For improved security, all verified sellers will be required to authenticate using Two-Factor Authentication (2FA) via their Registration and Public Email Address (as displayed in MyGunBroker > Account) at least once every 30 days.
When logging in after initial enablement or the expiration period, users will be prompted to request an access code as shown below:
The email address is masked as a further security measure.
Once an access code is emailed, sellers are allowed 20 minutes to retrieve the code from their Registration and Public Email Address (as displayed in MyGunBroker > Account) and enter it on the following screen. Check the box to remember the session for 30 days, or leave it unchecked if using a shared device. If you check the "remember this browser" and you are still being asking to enter a code, please make sure your browser default settings are not set to automatically clear cookies when your browser closed. This needs to be done for each device and browser you use if you are using multiple devices.
The submit button becomes available once a code of appropriate length is entered.
Important notes for the best 2FA experience:
- Keep the "Enter Access Code" window (shown above) open while retrieving the email, then enter the code on the same page from which it was generated
- Please be patient and check all spam folders as authentication emails may take up to 5 minutes to appear
- Clicking "Request another code" generates a new email/code and invalidates the previously sent code which may further delay authentication until the new email/code is received
- Each code is valid for 20 minutes
- Accounts will be locked-out after 3 consecutive unsuccessful attempts
