GunBroker is not the seller in any transaction, with the exception of logo merchandise and optional membership programs, but we have configured the site to support our sellers’ various preferred methods of completing the transaction. None of the checkout methods replace the item/auction format, but serve as a pipeline after the item/auction has ended to capture information required to complete the transaction, such as exchange of billing and shipping information between buyer and seller.
The steps of the GunBroker Checkout System will vary based on the amount of information provided in the listing by the seller and whether or not the seller has implemented the Immediate Checkout Process in order to accept payment directly through a payment gateway in the GunBroker Checkout System. Depending on the seller’s accepted payment methods, payment gateways can include credit card payments, or third party payment systems.
The Immediate Checkout Process
Not all sellers use the Immediate Checkout Process, which includes a payment process to the seller that has been integrated into GunBroker’s site. For sellers that do, you will find links to go through Checkout for a listing at the top of the view item page (once the listing has ended) as well as in the drop-down menu of the “Won” grid in My GunBroker.
In the Immediate Checkout Process, where the seller uses the credit card payment gateway supported by GunBroker, you will be able to enter your credit card information into the GunBroker site to complete payment to the seller. Note that the merchant for such sale to be reflected on your credit card statement is the seller, not GunBroker.
You can find the orders you have placed in the “Won Order” grid in My GunBroker. If the sellers uses the Immediate Payment Process, from there you can do things like view the order’s status, print an invoice, and track the order if it has been shipped.

The Standard Checkout Process
Other sellers use their own sites for purposes of facilitating checkouts, or supply manual instructions for buyers to follow upon winning or purchasing an item, referred to as “Standard Checkout.” If the seller has not specified all the costs associated with the listing ahead of time (shipping costs, tax, etc.) you as the buyer will have a chance to review and confirm the costs once the seller has added them to the order. In these cases, it is your responsibility as buyer to follow the instructions provided to complete the transaction agreed with the seller.

Transaction Information Known to GunBroker
When a buyer uses the Immediate Checkout Process, the site will reflect that payment has been made as described above, but note that in cases of firearm purchases, GunBroker will not receive information about whether the legal transfer of the item was made to buyer by the designated FFL unless separately contacted by buyer or seller.
When a seller uses the Standard Checkout Process, GunBroker will not have information about whether payment was made by buyer (or whether legal transfer of firearm items took place) unless separately contacted by buyer or seller.
