GunBroker does not permit barter, trade, or commodities to be used as payment or partial payment for transactions originating on GunBroker.com. This includes, but is not limited to:
- Gold, silver, bullion, or other precious metals
- Coins or other items offered based on their commodity or collectible value
- Merchandise or other property offered in exchange for an item
- Services offered in place of monetary payment
- Any combination of goods, services, or commodities used as payment or partial payment
Why Barter and Trade Are Not Permitted
Barter and trade arrangements can create significant transaction and verification issues, including:
- Determining and documenting the transaction value
- Verifying the authenticity, condition, quantity, or value of items exchanged
- Changes in the market value of commodities
- Shipping, insurance, loss, and delivery disputes
- Processing refunds and resolving transaction disputes
- Accurately determining the purchase price and applicable sales tax
- Establishing whether the buyer has satisfied the full payment obligation
For these reasons, sellers may not require or accept barter, trade, precious metals, commodities, goods, or services as payment or partial payment for an item purchased through GunBroker.
Buyer’s Protection Program
Transactions involving barter or trade are not eligible for coverage under the GunBroker Buyer’s Protection Program (BPP). Also see Buyer's Protection Program (BPP) Limitations and Restrictions
Buyers and sellers should use established payment methods permitted under GunBroker policies and clearly identified in the seller's listing.
All transactions remain subject to the GunBroker User Agreement, Site Rules, Listing Policies, and applicable federal, state, and local laws.
