To help protect our users and maintain a secure marketplace, GunBroker may require you to verify your identity as part of our account security process.
When verification is required, you will be guided through a verification process provided by LSEG, our third-party identity verification provider. You may be asked to:
- Provide a valid government-issued photo ID;
- Use your device’s camera to capture images of your ID; and
- Take a live selfie or complete a brief facial scan.
The verification process checks whether your identification document appears valid, confirms that a real person is completing the verification, and compares your facial image with the photograph on your ID.
Identity verification helps protect against unauthorized account access, identity theft, fraud, and misuse of personal information. It also supports compliance with our User Agreement, which requires users to provide accurate and current account information.
Not every user will be asked to complete identity verification. Verification requirements may vary based on account activity, security considerations, or other risk factors.
The screenshots below explain the steps you may be asked to complete and what to expect during the verification process.
