The First Item Plus Shipping Profile determines the shipping cost of an item or items based upon the following formula:
| Total Shipping Cost per Class of Shipping = |
Cost to ship 1st item |
| + Cost to ship each additional item | |
| + Any Handling Cost | |
| + Any Insurance Cost |
Example:
In this example, we assume the seller ships items overnight, 2nd day, and 1st class. The seller enters the costs for each of these shipping classes, as follows:

| Overnight | First item cost $10 | Each additional item cost $2 |
| 2nd Day | First item cost $5 | Each additional item cost $1 |
| 1st class | First item cost $2 | Each additional item cost $0.50 |
If a buyer wants to purchase 10 items, he would be able to see the exact shipping cost for the 10 items on the View Item page, and in the GunBroker.com Checkout system. Here is what the buyer would see:
