All bids placed on GunBroker.com are considered a binding commitment to complete the transaction. Once a bid has been placed, it generally cannot be retracted or canceled.
When Can a Bid Be Removed?
Bid removal is limited to exceptional circumstances, such as:
- The seller materially changes the item description after you placed your bid.
- The listing contains a clear typographical error that affects the item or transaction.
- You make an obvious data-entry error when entering your bid, such as entering $40,000 instead of $400.
Changing your mind about an item, finding another item, or deciding that you no longer want to complete the purchase are not considered reasons to retract a bid.
What Should I Do If I Entered the Wrong Bid Amount?
If you made an obvious data-entry mistake, contact the seller immediately and explain the error.
Buyers cannot request removal of their own bids. In an emergency situation, the seller must contact GunBroker Customer Support and request that the bid be removed while the auction is still active.
Bid removal is not guaranteed.
What If I Cannot Complete the Purchase?
If you win an auction but are unable to complete the transaction, contact the seller as soon as possible.
The seller may need to file a Non-Paying Buyer Report to recover fees associated with the transaction. A Non-Paying Buyer Report may also result in restrictions or suspension of the buyer's account.
Before You Bid
Review the entire listing carefully before placing a bid, including the item description, photos, shipping costs, payment methods, and seller's terms of sale.
If you have questions about the item or the seller's terms, use Ask Seller a Question on the item listing before placing your bid.
