You cannot retract a bid once you place it unless there are exceptional circumstances.
Exceptional circumstances include:
- The seller materially changing the description of the item after you placed a bid
- Clear typographical errors in the auction description
- A data entry mistake while bidding (for example, you bid $40,000 instead of $400)
If you make a mistake:
If you make a data entry mistake while bidding, you should contact the seller and ask the seller to contact Customer Support. Only the seller can ask for a bid to be removed in an emergency situation. The seller must contact us while the auction is still active.
We encourage you to contact the seller regarding any questions you have before placing your bid. You can use 'Ask Seller a Question' located on the item's detailed listing page.
All bidding is a binding obligation to complete a transaction. You should not place a bid if you are not able to complete the transaction. If there is an auction you are unable to complete, you may offer to reimburse the seller for the fees incurred for the sale and relist, otherwise the seller will need to complete the credit request process.
