The reason why no one fought back is because every day on tv a police officer is heard saying "we always tell the public to not fight back".
Criminals are cowards by nature and they fold under pressure of a public that fights back. If the brave souls on flight 93 hadnt fought back then we might not have a congress or white house right now.
Its time the fricken liberal media and stupid police across this country start educating the public to FIGHT BACK and KILL THE SON OF A gripe !!!0 -

Well, I spend most of my time off campus, I leave between every class, and always sit by the nearest exit/emergency exit.
I'm glad I don't live in the dorms anymore. This stuff certaintly wouldn't happen where I live(they would be dead very quickly)- but on campus, is another story.
This last quarter we had 1 suicide (asian female, not that it matters), and one white guy have a mental break down (he just walked off, and was found a few days later 20 miles out of town on some county road- he doesn't attend school here anymore).
So far none of them have gone postal, but when they stop caring about their life, how much further do they have to go to stop caring about others lives (and then how much further to want to take their life, and others lives).

Geez. My office is in Troy MI where a disgruntled terminated employee just KIA 1 worker and wounded 2 other workers. Shooter was on different floor. I know the feeling. What the hell is going on? 0 -

If they have to play the games with CCW on campus,........for God's sake at least allow a few administrators with CCW to carry. It would take a person with guts to walk into something like that, but it MAY have helped,..........certainly would not have hurt. 0 -
Law enforcement cannot protect against things like this,........I have already heard umpteen questions about the response. What I am largely hearing is the familiar,.......the gun was the cause of this. We have only heard the beginning of this, and it will not end with the recent change in the government. I hope I am wrong, but we shall see. Half of my friends are LEO's, and they will be the first to tell you if you really know them, that they cannot protect you! Their job is to pick up the bodies, and file the proper reports. Just telling the truth to those that think that a call to 911 will save your life,..........you are dreaming.

The real breakdown seems to be in the fact of how the school handled the first killing. They didn't even shut down, they kept having students coming in for class, and gave the lunatic time to go further. This is where the blame lies,.... secondarily, to the crazy person that did this, he should have been dead at this point, or have no more targets. I HOPE that people watch this, and place the blame where it truly lies.

Exactly. It is almost a Saturday Night Live Paraody the way that after the shooter(s) get through doing their cowardly and evil deed and the innocent, unarmed victims are lying all over, THEN the hordes/army of local police, county police, state police, FBI, ATFE, US Marshals, with truck loads of firearms and fully automatic firearms show up and run around acting all martial and protective and competent to save you. The funny part is that for the anti-gun, left-wing liberals, this kind of show actually comforts them into believeing that all they have to do is to take away guns from us peaceful, lawful citizens and then the police will finally be able to stop any and all crime.
BTW, I don't fault LEO's for not being able to stop such crimes as I know it is impossible.0 -

Correct Fox,........these guys are not omnipotent, they do their jobs as designed. It is just that most people don't really realize what exactly their job is! I stand by what I said, regardless of the "to protect and serve", on the side of the cars. 99% are great people, that have a job that I would not want at any price,.......my fiance works in medical records at a womens prison here, and I used to be a firefighter/ EMT years ago, before I went into business. Just relaying the "truth from the horse's mouth". I have utmost respect for the LEO's, but they are not here to "SAVE" us.0 -

There's really only one way to defend against this sort of thing and that is to be armed. I don't see the many places that ban firearms changing policy because of todays events, the liberal mindset won't allow that, they'll go for the impossible mission of eradicating ALL guns. 0 -

If the intended victim is armed, they are much less likely to be harmed or killed. Police don't prevent murders - they simply investigate them. You would think so, but most of the professional "experts" and admininstrators always, ALWAYS advise potential victms to act like defensless sheep. Hide, run, cooperate,talk to assilant, etc. But never EVER resist.

More and more of the focus of the news right now is centering on the long delay, (2 hours or so), between the first couple of killings and those that followed. What a lash-up!
Were the students warned about the first couple of killings immediately?
The university will be hammered with lawsuits, and it appears, rightfully so.
Now, I hear that the university security guards are nothing more than rent a cops without guns. Good grief, security police without guns. Now, it's said that the security police do have guns, at least that is a plus, or should have been.0 -

...What troubles me, IF the students all ran, did NOT try to defend themselves/attack this scum, why??? Mo Grits: I'm waiting for a reply from you regarding why lawsuits would not be in order against the university here. It's my understanding that the first two killings took palce on VT property, just like the later killings. Why would the university keep their campus open if such is the case? 0
