Substantial? Daughter #2's Siberian Husky could be sold for the amount equal to the deposit on a soda bottle. I hate that dog.

I would never sell a dog.

A cat, on the other hand, is a spoiled, willful, rotten beast that only comes around for attention, food, water, and shelter and doesn't show a lick of appreciation for any of it either.

That having been said, the cat and the teenager are both for sale.

The question might make sense to a person who has 'pets' that are bred from valuable stock. As a person who does not have pets bred from valuable stock (mine have always been mutts--cat mutts), I'll just say that anybody offering me money for my pets is not welcome in my home. In my case, it's too weird to make sense.

No way. I would seriously sell my gun(s) before I'd sell my dog.

I have heard this old saw most of my life and have upon reflection concluded the following: Either it is a vacuous expression meant only to convey a cavalier sentiment for effect (not unlike "A woman without a man is like a fish without a bicycle"), or it is an actual confession of utter despair and want of meaning on the part of the person saying it. And in either case it totally sucks.

No. Anyone willing to sell his best friend out can't possibly put much value on a woman either.

Male or female? The only reason that I ask is that I think GRD might spring for her.

...Hell no. Tweek the Border Collie is family and her up-keep is less than when my daughter was at home...and she dosesn't bring strange looking boys around either...[^]

The truth hurts, sometimes the confessor, sometimes the listener.

As a prostitute consultant henchman this old saw should be painfully obvious.

Cash only. Good luck getting my dog in your vehicle. Did I mention he is my dog and will bite a stranger. Sorry about the misunderstanding and thanks for the cash. Now my dog and I will go back in the house.

You can have the psychotic rat terrier for free, but you have to agree not to bring him back.
