Blued or Stainless...what's your preference...
for a hand gun...particularly a 1911?

Best of both worlds, blued stainless.
Especially in a carry gun. Not flashy, if it gets some holster wear, it still won't rust.0 -

I like the SS since it does not require that the gun be cleaned quite as quick following range time.
Some of the 1911's with the combo colors are very nice. SS frame and blue slide for example.0 -

Blued is my preference!!! However, for a purely utilitarian pistol where appearances do not matter (carry, conceal, etc.); low maintenance stainless is probably the way to go. 0 -

In a 1911, I like the looks of a deep blue, but prefer a satin, brushed stainless.

Well , I like the looks of blue , but for a 'carry' gun , Stainless , Im not 'blue friendly' ??? But , now 'carry' a glock 23 (40 cal.) at work and a glock 27 (mini 40 cal.) off duty because of dept. regs????
