Which was worse,......the above, or some of your previous marriages?[:D]0 -
I have had many, but the best would be my drunken attempt to climb a fench topped with razor sharp vertical spikes. Of course I did not realize the 2" spikes topped the 8 foot fench until I jumped and grabbed the top of it. Even then the alcohol delayed the pain until I had pulled myself up to the top and actually saw the spikes sticking out the back of both hands. 0 -

CRINGE!!!!
As for mine, I ran over my own foot while riding an ATV0 -
1,800lb hospital supply cart rolled down the back of my 48ft trailer, made 8mph about the time I turned around and took it full in the face. Came to with my face cut up, teeth knocked loose, nose folded over on my cheek, jaw dislocated, and torn vitrium in the back of my eyes.
Popped my jaw back into place, then set broken my nose.
That was the first dumb thing, gush of blood and almost passed out again. Second dumb thing was thinking I could drive myself to the hospital at 1am. I did, but when I got there I couldn't get out of the car. Thank God for the ER nurse that came outside for a smoke and saw me. My jaw was so messed up I could hardly talk, they thought I was saying a car hit me, instead of a cart, so they called Police. I finally had to write it on a piece of paper.0 -
Was in formation before a change of command parade. Had fixed bayonets before we marched in.
We were waiting on the word, BSing in formation and I forgot that bayonets were fixed. I had my M16 in front of me, buttstock on the ground, bayonet facing up. I thought I was placing my hand over the muzzle but in reality, I was putting it over the top of the bayonet a bit harder than I should have.
Needless to say, I went thru the ceremony with a hanky in my hand to stop the blood flow. Still have the small scar today......0 -
Grabbed a fan belt set to check tension, about that time a co-worker hit the start switch. Lost 2 fingers, stripped the meat off the bone. Didn't hurt at all but for just s split second when it happened. Later in the emergency room doctor decided it needed cleaning, now that hurt. Oh boy howdy! Nurse came up with something they injected in my butt, left a sore hard lump but did the trick just fine for releiving the pain in my hand. Was many years before I could stretch that arm out all the way without it pulling on nerves all the way back to my shoulder. Sure is an odd feeling to look down at your hand and see your own bones.
Oh dunbest..........
Had a Remington 1148 that was jamming. Took it all the way down and cleaned it real well. Seemed to be cycling fine so loaded it with a handfull of #6 high brass field loads. Went out behind the house and as it was getting dark, fired it into a tree stump I'd been trying to burn out. Got to function test the shotgun you have by the back door to repell boarders. Fire had made it hard and at 10' some of the pellets bounced right back at me. That stug. Fired the rest of the mag out into the woods, shotgun works well and went in the house, wife freaked, blood oozing out of my arms and legs. Washed my arm in the sink and got out a couple of pellets. Wife decided it would be a good idea to take a trip to the emergency room so took a shower first, more pellets in the shower. Stopped at a friends house, retired doctor, he wasn't home so we went to the emergency room. They had no idea what to do, I advised them that an X-ray would probably be a good way to see if I still had any pellets, then we could decide what to do next, dig them out, leave them, whatever. I had gotten all but 1 which came out real easy, like popping a zit. Took a tetnus shot and went home. Yup, dumb of me to shoot a tree stump from that close but luck was with me and no permanent damage.0 -
Was standing near the top of a ladder, and was trying to drive a screw into a metal stud. Had so much pressure on the drill, the magnetic bit holder broke, and I ended punching myself in the jaw. Hit myself so hard, ended up knocking myself off of the eight foot ladder. 0 -
I was plinking at an old dump site. I picked up a rusty can and tossed it against a hillside. A sharp edge on the can sliced my palm open like a banana. Lots of blood. 0 -
The dumbest was when I was in high school. A few of us Einstein award candidates drove out into the desert where wild honeybees had made a hive in a bluff alongside a sandy wash. It was located about 15' from the top of the bluff and about 20' from the bottom of the wash.
The plan was to lower someone on a rope from the top down to the hive who would toss waded up flaming newspapers into the hive. The smoke would render the bees docile and tame like all beekeepers know and we could scoop the honey out into the jars we brought along. The plan was flawless.
There was seven of us. It was odd man out and the coins were tossed. I won lost. Anyway, Pinchie Frank Burton was the only one who knew how ot tie a bowline, so he had the honors. I stripped down to the bathing suit we all wore under our clothes in the summertime in thoses days and peered over the edge.
Ron Moriarity handed me the waded up newspapers and stuffed some in my suit. Then, they pushed me over the edge before I knew what was happening. I was almost to the hive when I started thinking this wasn't such a good idea because the buzzing of the bees was starting to get pretty loud. I started to yell at the guys to pull me back up.
Just then I heard one of the guys yell that a bee had stung him. Then another guy yelled.
Then I realized that I was falling. I fell through the swarm of bees that was heading up to attack the guys on top. They had let go of the rope and let my butt go. I didn't get stung one time, but I fell 20+ feet to the sandy wash below and broke the small bone in my lower leg. Fibula. It was a compound fracture.
The only consulation is that my buddies that let go of the rope and ran in the face of danger sustained multiple stings each. I can still hear them screaming down the wash. [:)][:)]

so you just fell 20 feet, in your bathing suit, compound fracture, and all your buddies ran.
How did you get to the Dr.?
Sounds like a good B horror movie scene to me[8D]0 -
Put a two car garage door down then tried to take off the bottom roller bracket. Yeah, the same one that the cable/spring is attached two. Third bolt sheared in 1/2 from the tension, bracket came up and smacked me just above the right eye. The next roller/bracket stopped it from cutting the top of my head off. If I had been bent down 1/2" more, I'd have been killed. 0 -
crossing elc fence, stuck one of thoes old broadheads into my knee called apple corer, long and twisted.Thought I was going to bleed to death before I got help. 0 -
Went over bars on a bicycle, broke a thumb.
Went up about 8 feet on a snowboard but caught the tail and landed flat -- few ribs broke.
Wiped out on a snowboard, hit a tree and torn MCL and who knows what else.
The rest were smart injuries. Oh oh, caught a bottle with my head in a bar brawl once, still got a piece of glass somewhere under my skin.0 -

Mine is a tie...
Tried to match a biker shot-for-shot of Jack Daniels....
14 stitches in my head from when I fell....
Then my arm, tripped over a garden hose onto a concrete garage floor, immediately shattered an inch and a half of my ulna and the head of my radius, dislocation of the radius, greenstick fracture of the humerus...one plate, 12 screws and a slew of PT, hey I'm fine....0 -
When I was six years old I was watching a ten year old kid fish at the lake. He said, "I am gonna catch a big one."
He put six of those little skinny earthworms on the hook.
He told me to get back.
I was about 20 feet back, and still backing away, when he cast back.
Like a dumb kid, I was watching with my mouth wide open. The hook went inside my mouth, and stuck through, so that the barb was outside of my cheek. Six earthworms were inside my mouth, wriggling around.
The damn kid thought he had hooked a bush, and he jerked on the pole a couple times.
I was sorta yelling, "MMMMPPPPPPHHHHHHHH!!"
He looked back, saw he had caught me, he shrieked, threw the pole up in the air, and ran away. Never saw him again.
My brother was with me, he ran to the cabin and told my parents.
I can still feel those worms wiggling in my mouth.0 -

At 7 years old I was told not to play with the hatchet. So I got a reminder for the rest of my life. The scar extends back to my first knuckle. Yes, it was cut off.

When I was a toddler, and soon after being potty-trained, I was proudly standing in front of the commode, taking a leak. Just like a grown-up!!
Well, wouldn't you know it..the toilet seat fell, hitting the very end of my young manhood as I was standing there. It sure hurt. Went running to my mom with my pants down, grabbed my pee-pee, pointed it, and said "mommy....'tiss it"!!!
....got a smack in the head from her, saying I was becoming more and more like my old man every day.[:D] Joe0 -
Trip and fell off some stairs.
