I beg to differ. The GS will outrun a 1969 435/3 duece Corvette thru the quarter mile. Heck the new Z-06's will turn in the 11's thru the quarter and top end around 200MPH. That IS MUSCLE0 -

Put it with a tie for 14thIt ain't the fastest car on the road but it does ok for a factory rated 330 HP LT4. GM didn't rate it higher cause of the new 1997 C5 Corvettes coming out. I stand corrected it is as fast as a 68 427/6 barrel Corvette. Not bad for a fuelie 350. Of course my 35 series factory rears don't spin but hook up. Still a pretty fast car. Here are the stats.

I did find it interesting that the Grand Sport Corvette is only 330 HP; my Mustang GT is 325 HP --- Got nothing against 'vettes.
My High Performance 350 L-82 1974 ragtop Vette is only rated at 250 HP. Best they did that year. I didn't buy any of them for the performance . I bought all three for investment purposes. My 1970 Boss 302 was rated at 290 HP. Have you checked what they are currently bringing for $$$$? I enjoy my hobby and buy limited run cars. Supply and demand. BTW.. I would not take any of my Corvettes out to drive and rev them up and shift them hard. Too expensive of a ordeal to put them back if something breaks. Grand Sports are already bringing pretty good money. In 10 yrs I suspect they will appreciate in value many many many times. BTW.. only 1000 Grand Sports were built. 810 coupes and 190 convertibles. Currently there are over 2800 registered 1970 Boss 302's. Last check on fleabay they were bringing 75-100K. They cost something like 3500 new. Imagine what the GS will bring when it is 25 yr old.0 -

Its funny how some of you take a nice enjoyable subject and turn it to crap.
Just as with guns the car talk is all B.S. without the Dyno and track numbers. talk about all the lists you want, but what maters is what YOU have to run/play with. not what you read about.
I would love some more track time, too bad BIR (think NHRA) is closed for the season. It would be fun to get together. just so you have something to think about my little ford only has 253 HP but 438 ft lbs @ the rear wheels. its a 460 backed with C6 with 9" rear. it leaves hard and runs straight. the first 60 feet are gone in about 1.4 sec. you'll have to show up to get the 1/4 numbers. (ya, i got the paper work to back all that up)
so tell me, what do you have?
I would like to hear more about the Dodge pick-up. 440? w/ 727 8 3/4 rear? what gears? I think we could have some fun!

I don't think the good folks at this General Discussion forum know what you have in that truck -- the horsepower -- and track times.
Tell them about it -- show some photos.
OK, here's a couple pictures.
The motor is a 528 cubic inch Hemi, 10.5-1, the cam is a flat tappet solid, duration is 272/274@.050, 2-1/8" equal length headers, Milodon duel line oiling system, 12 quart pan, Weiand 2x4 tunnel ram with 2 750's, (soon to be replaced with a couple 950's). Everything fits under the hood.
No times with the Hemi yet, still working on getting the chassis legal. The old motor was a 440, it ran a best of 1.595-60ft, 7.621-1/8 and 12.19@106.88-1/4. I had $300 in the 440, the Hemi is CONSIDERABLY quicker. It also has nice street manners, I've put a couple thousand miles on it this summer. I've managed 10 mpg with it driving it (nice). In warm weather, with clean, dry pavement, it will smoke the tires at any speed under 60, now that it's cooled off, I can't nail the throttle at ANY speed. I tryed that at 80 once and used both lanes and both shoulders trying to keep it on the wheels. Dave0 -

I apologize that I have no muscle cars, anymore. I'm a disabled Army Veteran, fallen on hard times, my car collection and most of my firearm and knife collections had to be liquidated to pay my enormous medical bills, and save my home from foreclosure, some years ago.
Does lack of current ownership indicate lack of knowledge ??
