So... how did you meet your sweetheart?
Happy Hearts Day to all of the lovebirds here.
My publisher asked for submissions from those of us who write, asking to tell the story of how we met that someone special in our lives. I thought it was a neat idea, so I went ahead and sent in mine.
If you'd care to read about it, you can click here:

If you guys (or gals) want to join in, why not tell your story in this thread? How did you meet your sweetheart? What convinced her (or him) to agree to go out with you?
BTW, if you're interested in seeing what Mrs. SpanielSells looks like, this is your ONLY chance. I never post her photo.

I was dating a girl at Ball State University in Muncie, In. and would call her. She would pass the phone to her roommate and we would chat. I went over to the University to visit on my birthday. Girlfiend intoduced me to her roommate. It was love at first sight. I was getting ready to dump my girlfriend and had spoken to her roommate about it. Her roommate met me outside when I was ready to leave. I set a date up with her and the rest is history.

In 1975, at the age of 16 I attended Church Camp with the youth group from my church. On the Thurday evening of Camp there was always a "talent" show which involved different skits, music and
group presentations.
One of the skits involved a "devil" sitting on the piano singing a silly little song. The Devil was a girl I had talked to several times during the week, but for some reason I really was taken back
by her that evening.
A few days later after camp was over, my best friend ended up asking her best friend out on a date and they decided to fix us up.
We lived twenty miles apart and dated off and on over the that summer and during the fall. We started "going out" before our Sr.
and even though we desired to be together, decided to go to Colleges located about an hour apart.
We broke up in our 2nd year of college, but remained friendly. During the second semester of our Jr. year I ended up with an internship in you guess it, in the town where she went to college.
We started dating off and on again and by the end of our Jr. year were considering the possibility of getting married. We both had been accepted to summer mission trips, me in Missouri and her in South Carolina.
Just before she left, we talked and decided if it was the right for us to get married, we would know it when we got back.
It was a long but fun summer. I arrived home a few days before her.
On that Monday I bought a ring, On Tuesday, I asked her father for permission to ask her to marry me. On Wednesday evening, I met her at school and we got engaged that night.
We finished our Sr. year of college while planning the wedding. In May of 1981, I graduated one weekend, she the next weekend. We got married the following weekend. Honeymooned and I started Grad. School the next week.
That was almost 26 years ago and I am proud to have my sweatheart still by my side to this day.........[:D][:)][8D]
