If you guys knew of an illegal and you had been friends with her for several years, would you report her?

I also dissagree with several Laws that are on the books so why not allow myself to dissagree with this Law.
She would make a fine upstanding productive citizen and be a contributor to society (all of what she is now) if she could become legal.
She works 5 days a week and does not collect a dime of assistance from the gov.0 -
This woman should not be reported. Her diabetes research medical contributions are probably overstated, but given the magnitude of the illegal population here, picking on her would be unkind and of no great benefit to the problem as a whole.
Yes, she seems to be 'Good and Honest.' She is earnest, hard working and has tried to do it by the rules. If I had to choose between living in a filthy hut with no prospects and coming north to the USA where, de facto, the government has tacitly welcomed illegals (up to now), I know what I woud do...0 -

That is not always the case...There is a quota,...you are not allowed to take a job from an american citizen who is just as qualified to do the job....
A lot of times the visa is denied for that reason, so is becoming "legal"..
Now for those who are saying illegals cost the tax payers a lot of money...well this was just on Fox...

I have turned in illegals dozens of times. One time three times in one night (about 100 divided into three different vans at three different times). The border patrol usually (99% of the time) don't respond. At one time I considered building a gate like they have at the San Diego Zoo and charge $10 a head to be let thru my property. Luckily I was able to sell and move.0 -

I pursued illegals for 8 years that were getting fake DLs and SS cards. INS never attempted to deport any that I caught. Courts seldom prosecuted them, hell they hardly ever came to court after bailing out of jail. At the same time I know of several people who were trying to become citizens and had gotten the runaround for years. They worked in education and the medical field. It is such a &*%$*@ shame that these two things go on at the same time. Our country is in one f-ing mess. A person who would be highly productive and desirable as a citizen would be deported, a ditch digger will be left alone. When there are no more ditches to dig, who is going to support them, that contractor that was able to overbuild and make lots of money because of the cheap labor? I think not. In my opinion, the hordes of laborers just allowed the building boom which spurred the lenders which put people in houses that now are in trouble. Likewise the building boom is going bust, so guess who's going to be out of work. Most of them are not going back home willingly. They will demand that we take care of them, they already are. We ain't seen nothing yet I'm afraid. 0 -

38 million is the latest report of illegals here now and more on the way. Where do you want to stop and the vast majority will never make it off welfare. Do a little check and see how our schools are doing, if they attend they drop out and become a burden on the taxpayers. Black Rose you haven't told me what you are doing to support the illegals, my state spent 183 million to educated the illegal students in 2004 and that money could have been spent to educate Legal Americans. You need a education on what we are spending on illegals and we can't take care of all the worlds poor. How would Mexico treat you if you crossed their border and demanded amnesty and a ride on them/. 0 -

No where have I have said it was okay for illegals to be in this country illegally....what I have said is that yes we do have a problem but the welfare cost of the american citizen far outweights the cost of the illegals...

It is exactly because Washington State decided to grant licenses to Illegals that Canada and Mexico will no longer accept it for proof of Citizenship. The U. S. State Department will not accept it for getting a Passport. It has been rendered useless for ANYTHING. When my son asks me a question about laws or moral issues, I tell him exactly what is right and what is wrong to the best of my ability and knowledge.
I don't leave any gray area for compromise. If he had asked this question I would advise to do what is right, according to law.
I have worked with up to ten illegals in the past three years,
who presented themselves as "legal" only to be found as liars who are cheating our system of taxes and everything else possible.
As soon as our company found them to be falsely representing themselves, they were promptly turned in to the IRS and immigration.
I love this country, but the changes we are now faced with are sad, but real.

Doug I dont know why it cost so much to become a citizen,didnt cost me that much just a long wait.I applieded for citizen ship in 1996 and was sworn in last year.An 11 year wait.When I came here to the bay area it wasnt the mexican that was a problem illegal keeping the wages low it was the illegal Irish labour in the construction industry in San francisco and the bay area.When Ireland started booming a lot went back.When I came here in 1990 I couldnt get work in my proffesion so went back to the UK to work and commuted from my home in the bay area.As for any friends who were illegal no I wouldnt turn a friend in they are friends end of. 0 -
