my dad was a mason, I wanted to know how do you apply, do you have to be invited? or do ask to join?

When I found the website I read quite a bit before posting the link here. On the "Site Facts" page it says the site is the work of Ed King and it says he is a Mason. 0 -

So one of the goals is to have the "uninitiated", "forever in the dark"? Seems a lofty and noble calling.
If you have to join, then take a sacred oath to get "in the know" before you can make "your own observations", how is this making a decision based on those observations?
Just naturally curious about large organizations who have enormous influence and who operate behind closed doors. Again, no disrespect intended.
