February 1982. Seems like a lifetime ago.

I had been working for the Greenville PD only a few months. I was living in an apartment.

I was still married to, but separated from, my first ex-wife. I was driving a 1977 Datsun pickup. My old dog Nick was still with me, as was my old cat Smith.

Did Gun Broker exist 25 years ago? Did the internet exist 25 years ago? Did Al Gore exist 25 years ago?

Work wise I was doing the some old thing, but I was living in Alaska at the time, "thinking" about heading back down to the "lower 48". Still married to the first wife, and expecting #2 kid. ...LONG, LONG AGO!!

Man you folks sure know how to make a guy feel old.

I was loading UPS trucks and was usually done by 8:30 in the morning and still had the whole day to myself and a pocket full of cash.

The next year, I was driving my UPS truck up and down the streets of Detroit and Hamtramck saying "Hi!" to all the cuties that worked in the stores.

    I wanna go baaaack.....
