Remember that the christmas season is supposed to be the season of the rebirth in our lives, maybe if you and your family can't resolve your problems for christmas, you can put them aside until after the holdays which may give you all a breather in which to step back and reassess the dynamics within the family.
I hope the best for your family through this season and through the next year. God bless. Dave

She is running away with her 45 year old boyfriend?

Sorry, just trying to bring a smile. Hope the problem is something you can handle...

Locust Fork is a "she." It appears you might not be familiar with her posting habits either.[:D]

She isn't pregnant....but her antics this time will give me three more wrinkles and the halo of grey hair is coming in strong. I think the majority of our problems are the "winners" she chooses to pick as friends.

Since it's not pregnant, and you said something about choosing better friends. My guess would be some kind of drugs in the car her friend had and got popped by the police.

I know people here are good people and I know posting anything like this will lead to some ragging coming my way. I just don't understand her at all. She has so much and just doesn't understand what her choices and actions are doing to her future. Its not easy to have a teenager these days....at least not this one. I am only comforted by the fact that my younger two have ALWAYS been easier than she is. Maybe she will learn what she needs to before its too late.

Community service MAY do wonders, especially is there are alot of hours required/a job they REALLY hate.

    Locust...

I read your post and I couldnt help but laugh ...Now before you get into a tizzy, read on....

It brought back memories of my own daughter, and the times I went thru with her...NOthing really bad but still some "graying hair" moments...

You will get thru it, as will she and you can both sit over a glass of wine or stronger in a few years and laugh...

Dont let it ruin your christmas, and only you make that decision whether it will or it wont...

by the way, you have mail or will have shortly...[;)]

In ten years you will hardly remember the bad times. Cherish the times, both good and bad, and move on. At least she did not kill someone. (I hope). Don

    Did she come home drunk?
or did you find a baggy of bud?

I know I shouldn't pry the info but now my curiosity is up.

If there was trouble to get into I found it and found some big trouble. I just said that to point out that kids get into and make trouble but look how good I turned out[:D][:)]

LF...will keep her and your family in our prayers. Did a funeral last year for a family who lost BOTH sons in the same car wreck. One 18 the other 15. If you can still hug your daughter in the morning, it can't be all that bad, and can be worked out.

    Good point...

I must say, I am lucky. I have nothing to post regarding an aggrevating teenager. But I may,... time will tell....

    LF -

you shouldn't throw out a teaser unless you are going to come clean...

if your daughter isn't pregnant, hasn't been arrested, or wasn;t injured, chalk it up to typical teen stupidity. A phase that we all went throught in some form or another.

OTOH, I hope what I mentioned above never happens.
(well, the pregnant part till she's an adult and married)[:)]

From reading your posts about your family, LF, I think your daughter will survive these times in fine fashion...thanks to you.

And, MERRY CHRISTMAS to you all! [:)]

Just life - lean into it - await the next challenge - one day you'll miss the drama. The only answer is to maintain a steady helm and be consistent - any bad choices that she makes are hers to own. As long as she understands that all's well - all you can do - anything you do beyond that is pandering to her and she'll only demand more.
