CO - That this is a great place to live, we've got wide-open spaces, and everyone's friendly.

We're full, the people are @$$holes. Get out, go home and stay away.

Going out in minus-12 F. temps this morning (a common occurrence for the past three weeks), it occurred to me that people may rightly question one's sanity for living in Minnesota, and it got me thinking about myths (or facts) about various states. For example, there are folks who have actually asked me whether the snow ever completely melts in Minnesota. (Uh, yeah, once every decade or so, like when it's 102 degrees in the summer and I'm harvesting carrots and potatoes from the permafrost). So for my state, it's the "It's always cold there" myth. What are some of the common myths about YOUR state?[:)]

I used to live in Mn, and from what I remember those bikini clad girls all over Cedar Lake didn't look all that cold. So I believe you....

Well, I was about to put down a couple myths I always heard about us folks here in Louisiana, but before I could get any wrote down I had to get up and get me another Old Milwalkee to go with my microwavable burrito lunch. On the way to the kitchen I accidentally tripped on one of my six kids (ages 16,14,12,7,3,and 2) toys and knocked over the damn spittoon, spillin' 'bacca juice all over our nice harvest colored shag carpet. I wouldn't care if it spilt on the kitchen floor because it just covered in plyboard (you know these darn trailers and their crummy floors), but this is some nice carpet and I doubt you can still find it anymore (they don't make it like they use to, you know). Well, to top it off, by the time I got back to clean it up, little Ennis, my oldest daughters 6 month old son, had crawled over and was playing in the 'bacca juice. He was covered in it so I took him outside and washed him off in our swimming pool. Good thing we have that pool since our water was cut off last week. Its one of those real nice plastic pools. We all love it. Our six dogs really like it too. Hopefully my ol' lady can do some good this week at video poker and I can get the water back on. It is kinda cold in the pool this time of year. Well, by the time I had sat down with my Old Milwalkee and burrito I had forgoten what those myths were I was gonna write down. Now I know what you're all thinkin', why didn't I just get my ol' lady to bring me the beer in the first place.[;)]

PS. Anyone know how to clean cheese out of the keys of a keyboard?

    Ben

I heard there's not a whole lot of "sleeping" out there!

Here in Virginia, "Moose Head" is a beer. In West Virginia, it's a felony! [;)]

So is it true that if a husband and wife from WV get divorced, they're still considered brother and sister?

Be advised that one of the few myths regarding Texas is that you can strike out in any direction to get there! I'd suggest not to do that if you are on any type of schedule. [:)]

    Washington "The Evergreen State."

It USED to be green before international timber companies cut all the trees and sold the logs to Japan. [:(!]

People in Washington are "ruggedly independent."

We USED to be "ruggedly independent" before the state filled up with socialists from Kalifornia. Now the few "ruggedly independent" of us who are left sit on the outside looking in while the big-city socialists steer the state by electing nothing but liberal democrats to the Governor's office and State Legislature. West Virginia is apparently for sheep lovers... at least that's what some of the posts here suggest.
