The crap that is spewed above is nonsense and is not the way things are anymore. I see many people with billions of $ and that are very well educated with tats. You cant see mine when I wam working but I am far from ashamed of it.

gagirl, you've got what we in S.D. often refer to as "West River child bearin' hips!"-which is a COMPLIMENT. (S.D. is sorta divided into and refered to as "East River" and "West River" by the river

I wish I could afford my first tattoo, but I can't justify it at the moment have been wanting a tat since I was 14 I'm 23 now and I decided on what I wanted when I was 21.

Because I shot and killed my first deer at age 21 with my AK sar-1 and it took 3 shots in heavy brush first shot was for the head but missed second was low and left "couldn't see her well but knew where she was and had seen her outline before" 3rd was low and right aether the second or 3rd went right threw her left side right behind the leg and turned everything in the chest cavity into jelly. She never got off the ground, died instantly.
Why on the back of my right hand, couple reasons first off being I'm right handed I want it seen when I'm shooting, second off if a place wont hire me because of it I don't want to work there in the first place.
Another reason I'm still waiting other than the money is, I have to make sure its someone good the hand isn't the safest place to get a tattoo from what I have heard you have to be a more skilled artist because you have to be careful to not go to deep and affect the nerves in the hand.
I still have the empties from that day or 2 of them anyhow, dunno if I ever did pick up the 3rd.0 -
Have a Buffalo Skull w/feathers on my right bicep, that doesn't
show when wearing a t-shirt. Wasn't drunk, and occassionally consider
getting something on the left.. for balance.
At the time I was a 30yr old biker and felt obligated.[;)]
It didn't hurt (much), but I was kinda glad it wasn't any larger.lol
Some can be rather artful, but many are gaudy imho.

A couple "jailhouse" tatoos from an earlier life. They're not visible with a shirt on. Since I've "matured" I don't like tattoos. Maybe I'll get these things covered with something that looks better? 0 -

Wow! I never thought this topic would bring out so many different opinions. I think Tat's are a personel thing. For those of us that have them, we know the reasons we got them. Weather that was to remember a fallen friend, or a speciffic time and or event.
I don't believe that having tat's makes you a second class citizen. That being said, I also think that anybody that would get a tat that can't be covered fairly easily if the situation warrants it is making a mistake.

Tat's in my opinion make someone look very unproffesional in a suit and tie situation. Most folks are smart enough to get them where they can hide them if they need to.
I haven't personally gotten any tat's. Not that I don't like them, but I'd rather spend my cash on guns,shooting, ect.0 -
I agree with the not looking good with a suit. I would never get one that I couldn't cover if the situation warrants it. At the moment I have one I have wanted covered up for 10+ years. Not some old girlfriend or anything, just a cheap first time tat done with needle, thread and ink.
Somebody said earlier that it was lame if your a white guy with tribal. I have Tribal on my back. My family originated from the Sioux Nation. But it has been pretty much watered down. I'm not saying that makes me enough Native to have tribal, just makes me a guy trying to remember his roots. I know that the tribal disign doesn't match up with the plains Indian art, but I really don't want actual 1700 - 1800 native art. They all look to stick figure like to me.0 -

it's hard to get a job if you have tats, because the employer doesn't want "a bad image" to show to the customers. same thing if you have a hairlip, too fat, too skinny, too ugly, too good looking, blah blah blah.
they say it's because "youre a second class citizen". bull chips. it's not. you're being lied to. don't get cowed by the system.
they don't give a rat's ass what you look like when you aren't on display in front of the customers. performance is what matters. at that point, you're not a "second class citizen". doesn't match up, eh?
look at the ads from ...eh... a major computer manufacturer. they show their tech support guys. young, white, dressed in a shirt and tie. that's what you're going to get, right? wrong!! I did that, there were guys with hair dyed blue, chicks with hair dyed pink, nose rings, belly button rings, you-name-it rings, tattoos anywhere, old people, some dudes got canned when they found out they were too young to work (like 14 years old), fat people, skinny people, ugly people, smelly people, 'normal' people, anything you could think of. and you should see their cubicles.
and you couldn't tell the difference on the phone.

....I always find the subject of tats interesting. There's usually a lot of: "Oh no, not me. Your body is a temple, not to be defiled" type of rhetoric. Not too much this time around, though. Yet where do you draw the line? Vasectomy? Tooth crowns? Makeup? Don't clip those nails or cut your hair.
....Women paint their nails and men trim their beards. All for the sake of vanity. We dress up or dress down, depending on the situation. Again, vanity. We present ourselves as we wish to be seen. I'll repeat what I said earlier...tats are forever. Thirty years down the road, that Bart Simpson or Homer is going to look pretty stupid. Don't do your hands, neck or face.

So you took your rifle and just started blazing away at a general area because you had seen the deer in the area before? Does anything about that sound a little unsafe to you?0 -

Figures someone would jump to conclusions, the shots were under 30 yards at a downward angle even if there was no deer there the bullets would have impacted the ground and the 40 acres behind it is mine, if someone was in those woods that's there problem I use the same area as a rifle range. With little to no backstop other than shooting at a downward angle into the ground for the most part "there's a hill on the other side if any shots made it threw the woods that they would impact"
I saw the deer all of it before I shot, its body was in the grass its head was above the grass, I shot at the head missed did 2 quick follow up shots in less than a second where I figured its body to be from seeing its outline previously. I did not want to give it the chance to stand up because if it did there would have been a chance it would have gotten into the thick brush beside it and then I would be possibly tracking a wounded deer or just not gotten it at all.
All 3 shots were in less than a second I only fired 3 rounds if I was a jackass like you apparently think I am I would have emptied the 10 round mag wouldn't I?
If I didn't think I was going to get a kill shot I never would have shot any of those shots, however I have shot over 1k rounds out of that gun and the hs miss was a fluke, I may have been excited and aimed off the side of the front sight and not the front sight itself, after shooting for the head I didn't know if I hit the head or not however I figured I didn't since I didn't see anything happen other than the head drop below the grass.
No it probably wasn't the best hunting situation, but its better than most you get in these parts because of the heavy brush I haven't and never plan to shoot at something I haven't seen well. I knew this was a big doe before I shot otherwise I wouldn't have taken the shot.0
