I own them. I have always desired them. They have multitudes of uses, hunting included.

An assault rifle-as you will learn- is a select fire, military rifle chambered, usually in a sub-battle rifle caliber. The important point being select fire. A semi-auto military look alike is not an assault rifle.

I own several, and I will build and purchase more. It's an addiction, and I love it!

Yes, semi-auto .22LR holds 10 plus one in the receiver. Not an assault rifle, but close enough for some definitions out there.

Also own one that meets the definitions and yes, I want one more this year.

Most of my firearms are semi autos. My rifles are an M1 Garand and an M1 Carbine. They're not collector items, but they are great shooters, so I'm not afraid to make changes to them to fit my needs. I have most of the parts to build a semi auto AKM, which I hope to get together soon. I actually prefer military style weapons, sporting and hunting arms are to bland and boring to me.

I own several semi automatic firearms if that is what you are asking, and yes I plan on owning more to include a Barrett .50 Caliber Semi Automatic Target Rifle.

I bought an AR as soon as the Democrats gained power.
I can admit that here sense it was bought through a dealer so the feds know I have it.
But I might sell it any day.[:D]

The early replies show an overwhelming majority of respondents who own or at least desire to own the type of weapons that I described. I do not own one, nor do I desire to own one. I do, however, support your right to own them. I also responded to Mr. Zumbo's blog indicating that I thought he was in error in taking the stand that he did.

I should have started another topic dicussing the definition of an "assault rifle." (and I will do so) I see the term used, I think I understand what is likely being communicated, but I do not like the term as it implies (to me) a sinister weapon of some kind. On the other hand any rifle could be used to assault a person, a group, or a fortifide position. Some would obviously be better choices than others. Seems to me that we fall into "their trap" when we are not careful of our terminology.

You and I should talk. I have a patented three step program for your addiction.[:p]

And yes I own some, am building more, and desire still more. However, I am not an addict.[;)]

Kinda yes I do own one that is sorta what your talking about. Doesn't really count in my opinion though.

I would like to buy AR-15 and AK underfolder, and will I just need to figure out how to get them without my wife finding out about them.[:D]

    Assault is a action,NOT a weapon.

    Don't have one yet.

There are only a couple on my personal list.

I'd like a varmint rig in 223 on an AR platform.

    And I'd like an SKS.

One for fun and one for the extremely serious work of hunting prairie dogs.

I have a couple, but I'm into 1911's and they are just dust collectors....Oddly enough I probably wouldn't have bought them if that monster Diane Frankenstein or whatever her name is hadn't said I shouldn't be allowed to own one!!! So if you don't like me owning it hey write Ms Big Mouth a letter and tell her to shut up before everyone has a horde of them. Ooops I mean one, naturally!!!!

Almost bought a CETME., but I had expired I.D.
But low-tech battle rifles are where it's at. None the less, I would thoroughly enjoy a Drugunov or a CETME/G3, M-14/M-21/Srpingfield M1/Beretta M1, FNFAL or any other large bore gas operated military rifle. Don't get angry at me but the .223 (5.56mm) might be fast, but to tiny for me. The "black rifle" is not really my cup of tea, I guess I could get into a AR-10, and I always liked the styling of the AR-18, but most M-16/M-4 clones are too "Honda Civic" for me, that is everybody has one and everybody tricks them out.
