Do you own or desire a semi-auto mil type rifle
Given the amount of space consumed on this forum with the "Zumbo issue" over the past few days, a question comes to my mind. Without impling approval or disapproval of the use or desire to use a military-type semi automatic rifle for any peaceful pursuit (hunting, target shooting, plinking, home defense, etc), my question is do you currently own one or more of these? If not, do you desire to own one?
While I am not sure of the exact definition of an "assualt rifle" (as the term was used by Zumbo and has been used by many in this forum), I am presuming that the term is being applied to the above described civilian weapons. If I am incorrect, I am sure that I will be educated quickly by this group. [:)][:)]

yes, that's all I've owned and ever will own probably, due to the ubiquity of spare parts and accessories, low cost, reliability, ruggedness, simplicity. I love mil surplus stuff.
if I want low power, I'll use an ar-15 clone.
if I want medium power, I'll use an AK or SKS.
if I want high power, I'll use an HK-91 clone or Springfield M1A.
and mil surplus ammo all around.
that's all there is to it.

No, but only because I'm just not into all of the different types of guns. A few handguns, a 22LR rifle and a home defense shotgun are pretty much my limit of interest. Perhaps if I had gotten started earlier on in my life, I would want one. I can easily understand, though, why there are so many afficionados of the many types of firearms. 0 -

I own an SKS (chinese) and an AK-47(wasr-10)Model 60 Marlin, and an 870 express. i dont really hunt so hunting rifles really have no appeal to me unless i want a dead on accuracy gun for the range. If i could pick any not Assault rifle to own it would be the M40A1. And PS i know AK's and SKS's are not assault weaons because theyre not select fire. I think to be classified as assault rifle you need select fire, pistol grrip, grenade launcher sites... 0 -
