Funny this subject would come up. I was just looking at girl names online today.
Here's the best I found today.

    Talladega

I told Mrs. Plaid, if that's a name how about Daytona or Bristol.

It is so funny you pulled that one!

When I was pregnant with my daughter (who was conceived at at Watkins Glen on NASCAR weekend), I told a rather uptight friend of mine (kiddingly) that I planned to name my child after a track, and if it was a girl, she would be dubbed Talledega.

As it was, we named her Charlotte. Ends up we found a track name that works. It suits her perfectly.

She cringes when I tell that story.....

Names I would not name my children

    Girls:
    Ashley
    Brittany
    Tiffany
or anything else that implies a pretense to wealth, because although it may sound precious when a small child, professionally only conjures images of someone in the adult entertainment industry, to me, at least. (Apologies to all those Ashley's, Brittany's, and Tiffany's out there.)

I know a kid named George who goes by the name Geo.

I've met many a Richard who goes by Rick.

I hate the name Hunter for a girl, and strongly dislike it for a boy.

My brother went to school with a Ronald McDonald. This was back in the early 60's before the clown character was around.

A buddy named his first daughter Cassandra, which I thought was a heck of a name to saddle a kid with - he had no clue about the Greek myth.

    Lemonjello and Orangejello

We could never figure out what she should name the third one, Limejello or Grapejello or.........

That family must have moved to So Cal. We have arrested Orangejello and Lemonjello several times, I kid you not. They are repeat petty criminals.

They are pronounced "Or...anjello" and "Lem...onjello"

Had a young gal come to the doors several years ago. Selling some ship so she could go to Hawaii.
Her name was "Special" what a misleading crock of ship that is. Her mother deserves 40 lashes.

I used to work with a guy whose last name was Hester. He used to say that if he ever produced a daughter, he would name her Polly.
I know of a guy whose real first name is Ace. One of my patrons from back in my bartending days was named Rocky Mountain.

Always was a John/Mary traditional name kind of guy. Ended up naming my daughter Angelica, though. Only name my wife and I agreed upon...
