For all the folks that think the end is near, feel free to divest yourselves of your valuable earthly possessions to me at ten cents on the dollar.[8D]

Today I'm accepting Mercedes's titles, Waterfront properties, and Single Action Army Colts.[:p]

While this is written in a humorous vein, in reality, for the people that believe it, I don't know whether to pity or laugh at them. They are sacrificing the learning and experience of this life because of some vague promise of the next.

A bird in hand is better than two in the bush.[:)]

You are so sadly mistaken. Christians live everyday to it's fullest. We just have a better understanding of the world and eternity than unbelievers...and it's this understanding that enables us to live life to it's fullest.

To paraphrase George Patton, you know as much about life as you do fornicating. How can you possibly know anything about life if 90% of your options are some type of forbidden sin? You self limit yourself (unless your not a "real" Christian).

Each state should have a state religion and all adherants live there. Look at Utah, Mormons. They can have their own little Taliban there without anyone caring or bothering them.

Eventually, reason and knowledge will make current religion obsolete just like it has ancient religions. Man just has to grow out of the childish fantasy we were taught.

I just hope you remember these conversations after the rapture...and you don't end up buying into whatever lie the anti-Christ comes up with to explain the disappearance of millions of Believers...and I hope that it happens in your lifetime so that you can have a second chance, so to speak. Once we are gone, you'll have up to 7 years to get things right with God...provided you are not killed sooner.

Although not directed specifically to me I certainly find these two portions most interesting - but I will apologize beforehand about making comment on them, for ample coverage in this public forum.

"Christians live everyday to it's fullest" and "We just have a better understanding of the world and eternity" I find those two statements fascinating ... of course you do.I think you're getting a head start on the Rapture, lad. Generally, when folks begin telling me 'how things REALLY are' it just confirms (to only me, of course) a couple of points about them.

There will always be some type of religion because there will always be a way to make money off of the sheep and for the leaders/preachers of the time to have power over their flock..
As long as people believe in words in a book written by man there will always be a group of men to write a new one,,there has been many of these books through out history ,many older than the bible and there will be more written long after the bible is gone,,,it has already started,,look at the new religions like scientology,,,more people believing in words in a book written by man..Or even a bigger new religion,,look at the Mormons/LDS,An angel showed it to me so it must be from God so you must follow what my book says,,no one wants to die so everyone looks for the fountain of youth or any other way to have eternal life,,,just some fairy tails are more believable than others...

The last I heard, the perfect red heifer for sacrifice hasn't been
bred yet. Imperfections keep cropping up.

P3, I know its impossible to understand until it happens to you. I lived without Christ for 31 years. And I have lived with Him for 8 years. Speaking from experience I can tell you which is better. I remember when I didnt know Him, I felt about the same way you do. But like I always say (ask); Is it even remotely possible that I know what I'm experiencing? Could I possibly, by some strech of the imagination know something that you dont know? Could that even be possible? And remember I was a semi professional musician for over 10 years, sort of a celbrity in my town. In those years do you think I had the opportunity to indulge in the pleasures of the flesh? Sure I did, and I can tell you that there is no comparison to knowing The Lord. Its just that good. [:)] I know this won't convince you, and thats alright, but there are only 3 real possibilities here: 1. I'm lieing to you - 2. I'm insane and just imagining this - or 3. I'm telling you truth.

If they brought back the sacrifice (animal), wouldn't that be blasphemy. And could that be what Daniel spoke of as the "abomonation that causes desolation", the final straw for God, that He would give His Son as the final sacrifice, and they would think they need it.

The antichrist will cut a deal with the Jews, they will sacrifice animals.

I know they will, but what will this do as far as something so detestible, that He offered up His Son, and there is no other sacrifice needed. The animal sacrifice only gave attonment, not the redemption for sin. I just think, man, what blasphemy to reinstate it.

The Jews don't believe in Christ until he comes back to earth, at end of the great tribulation.

I have no idea, but it's supposed to be better that I can possibly imagine...and I can imagine some pretty good things!...not to mention my glorified body made perfect and whole again...I'm ready for His return!

Why wait for him to come to you?[;)]

Even though the end of the world is not near, all the religious nuts waiting for god or space ships to land is just plain weird. The world is full of Jim Jones's and Heavens Gate types.

Don't be lead astray by false prophets.

+1 you sound like a catholic

The ones who will really be surprised are the ones who believe in the rapture fantasy.

That's true, ECC, but please take some friendly advice. When you see a great world leader standing on the Temple Mount, and he says "Come, follow me, I have come to fly you away into the clouds", run as fast as you can in the opposite direction.

If I do see that, you can rest assured that I'll be running the other way...[:D]

ECC, you're grabbing at straws. One kook advocates for animal sacrifices and the world is coming to an end?

'Renew animal sacrifices on Mount' says radical rabbi

Zumbo says we are terrorists. Who do you believe?
