Favorite Classic Automobile?
What is your favorite classic automobile? I think Ford styleside trucks from 1973-1979 are great.
Easy for me - any of the 'Golden Three' - '55, '56, '57 Chevy.
Used to own a '56 - am looking at a '55 now.

I'll narrow that down a bit. '69 Mustang Mach 1 or Boss 429. No finer car before or since.0 -
1964 Ford Galaxie 500 hardtop coupe or convertable with the 390 and Pagoda Green (Turquoise) and White. 0 -
1968 SuperStock Dodge Dart 4 spd.[:p] Cross Ram 426 HEMI with an "advertised" 425 hp (was closer to 500). Dana 60, no heater, no A/C no radio, no power steering, no power brakes, no insulation, Corning glass side windows, no window cranks (used a seatbelt to let the windows up/down), fiberglass fenders and hood. Used an A-100 van seat on aluminum mounts to save weight.
Just a plain badass car built to dominate the upper ranks of Super Stock which they did and still do.
Missed buying one when I was 15. Dad said it wasn't a "sensible" car.[:D]0 -
Most Corvettes. When I was young one of my buddies older brother had a 61 Chevy Bel-Air with a factory 409 and 4 speed that I still lust over till this day. 0 -

Ive narrowed it down to three in this order.
1) 1970 Chevelle SS454 (already have)
2) 1971 Hemi Cuda'
3) 1969 1/2 440 Six-pack Super Bee
Is your 70 Chevelle the 450 Hp version? Wish I had one.[:)]0 -
AC Cobra, 1970 450Hp Chevelle, 67 Olds 442 w-31 0 -
1970 chevelle SS 454, if im not mistaken the 1970 chevelle was the first year the 454 was introduced. And its gotta be black with white stripes or black with gold stripes. 0 -
Some on this 50 fastest Muscle cars is messed up. I had a 67 Chevelle SS 396/375 with a factory 4:56 rear gear and close ratio 4 speed that would fly. It actually ran faster on Radials than the bia/ply tires. My factory stock Grand Sport Corvette's will do a 13.3 at 107 MPH thru the Quarter mile. Not bad for a stock car. Which would be the 7 th fastest on the list.. notice that is a 68 Vette with a 427 with 3 dueces.. Who says technology hasn't improved when a 350 Fuel injection will run the same as a 427 [:D]

No, my 70 SS454 Chevelle is not the 450 HP LS-6, I didnt have the $50,000 when I bought mine about 8 years ago. Mine was originally a LS-5 360 HP 454 and will soon be a 502 0 -
