No One Answered My Question
how many of you on this board have gotten a DUI or driving with a suspended license ? i think i smell ALOT of hypocrites on this board as well as ALOT of hateful people in their comments towards paris hilton. i cant believe how shameful everyone here is acting. however, i find it very promising that due to the enourmous outrage everyone here is spewing that all of you guys will be petitioning you congressman to increase the jail time for DUI offenders and those driving without a license.

Never had a DUI ever dude. 0 -
I have one DUI, about 10 years ago. Was being stupid, said I was ok, had a wreck on the way home, and got busted for the DUI. Paid my fine, done the community service, learned my lesson. 0 -
Never had a DUI and I've never had a license suspended or revoked.
No hypocrite here.0 -

So true-[:)]0 -
Zero, Zip, Nada. Two parking tickets; two speeding tickets. 45 years of driving. 0 -
Never had a DUI, and I don't drink and drive. I did back in the day, just never got caught. If you drink and drive very often, your gonna get caught. And if you get caught, you should suffer the consequence's. Paris Hilton deserve's to be punished just like every one else. I just read she's been ordered back to jail, and that's the most satisfying new's I've heard all day. And it was very funny also. She's an over rated rich biatch, and I hope she has a very nice stay at the iron bar hotel.[:D] 0 -
I am 22 and ONE is my limit if I am driving. Hell, one is my limit all the time. [:D] I have turned away from beer and switched to red wine. It is at least 'good' for the heart. [;)]
Oh yeah, and that one is always a draft Budweiser. [:p]0 -
Nope.
I think I may have deserved one 3 times before I was 25 and I've been smarter since then.
No excuse for rich people to drink and drive. Hire a limo to go out drinking for crying out loud.0 -

I love a good cold beer, or sometimes three, but not when driving. I may have one in a restaurant with a meal and drive, but like git r done, if I have two or more, I am a passenger.

Of course, I meet people all the time who act as though getting busted for DWI, or having a suspended license, or even going to the penitentiary, is just something that happens, not something that they engineered for themselves. It is as though such things are inevitable, and the question is not whether it will happen, but when.
Are you one of those people?
Nowadays, way too many of the people driving drunk, driving without license, driving without insurance, etc, are illegal aliens who just don't think they have to comply with our laws. That irritates me, and yes, I would sign a petition to increase jail time for such parasites.
It is very easy to have a perfect driving record. No tickets since the late 70's0 -
OJ Y R U sticking up for Paris Hilton. She is a total loser.....You don't really believe that birds of a feather thingy do you????? 0 -
If hilton's record is anything like mine - she has a lot of jail time coming. I figure I probably have 50 to 100 traffic violations of some sort for every citation I've received.
I don't drink and drive. I haven't had a ticket since 1999, and I figure I'm due for one. I drive fast, but over the last fifteen years I've probably slowed down about 15 percent. Still do drive fast, just not crazy fast.
Most of my cars today are a lot slower than they used to be.
By the way, the comment I made about the breath analyzer, was a joke. Of course it is not a solution, and couldn't be done practically.

OJMayo, I'm missing something in your logic here, young hero. I've got some questions for you.
1. How does a DUI make anyone a hypocrite?
3. What does DUI have to do with Paris Hilton going to jail? (She went to jail for repeated violations of probation)
4. How old are you?
Is number two a poofable question? Don0 -

A DUI doesnt make anyone a hypocrite and I never said it did. What I said from the beginning was that Paris Hiltons sentence was far beyond what 99% of people get for the same infraction. However, everyone on this board seems to think she is getting preferencial treatment from someone. I asked the question about forum members getting DUI's to find out what kind of jail time they got. Only one person responded and he said he did NO jail time. I have multiple friends with multiple DUI's and none of them ever served more than 2 days in jail. Paris Hilton did NOT get preferential treatment, inf act she got punished WAY beyong what normal people get in LA County.
She went to jail for ONE probation violantion. She was sentended to 45 days for something that people RARELY EVER go to jail for. A perfect point was a segment that Bill Oreily did yesertday when he was so "outraged" over Hiltons lenient sentence. However, the day before he did a segment on multiple illegal aliens who had been arrested over 20 times and never did any jail time.
Paris Hilton got punished far beyond what the average person EVER does yet for some reason the general public and this entire board seems to think she got off light. The only thing I will say is that I hope from now on people will start to demand that ALL people convicted of a DUI get 45 minimum, or better yet, a year in jail.
My feeling though is that the next anyone here gets a DUI they will be crying for an early release too

Your comprehensive level is lower than a kindergarten student. She went to jail for a probation violation because of not following the orders of her probation release. She was given a pass on the DUI. Please get your facts correct. Don0 -

Are you really that thick headed? This is the third time I have splained to you that Paris Hilton got no jail time for her DUI. None, nada, zero, zip!
Paris Hilton went to jail for violating her probation. You say one violation, the judge says two. I won't argue that point. She went to jail for violation of probation.
I guess the judge should just keep adding more probation time every time she violates it.

i drove drunk twice in my life. even though i never got caught that was enough, after the second time i was sobered up by the realization how easy it was for me to cause an accident since then i'd rather take a cab twice or find a hotel nearby (and take a cab there too) then get behind a wheel drunk ever again. 0 -
OJ - By the way, how old are you ??
I'm 63. I think Sig is a little older and Marc a couple of decades younger.
By the way, how old are YOU ??

Doug, why does it matter? 0 -
No DUI. I did have a drunk woman smash into my PARKED car, drive off, and later get caught. I hope Paris Hilton gets plenty of time so other drunks will realize "if Paris Hilton couldn't get out of jail time so I better not drive drunk".
That isn't hateful, just a little justice.0 -
yup, I lost my license twice. from points. speeding tickets, wrong turns, etc etc etc and ya know what? the day I got a new car the cops didn't bother me no more. didn't change my driving one bit.
the cops in OMAHAHA speed. they run stop signs. they don't use their turn signal. now, when they give me so many tickets JUST cuz I'm (was) some young guy driving an old beat up hot rod, I don't feel guilty about it one bit. they day they start practicing what they preach I might.
ANY cop you follow in OMAHAHAAAHAHA will do something to give a ticket for if you follow them and watch. some friends of mine checked that out, the first cop they tried, it only took him 20 minutes to commit 9 violations!
late one night I was going one way on the interstate, this cop was flying going the other way. no sirens, lights, nothing. I flipped a U-ey and floored it to tag along far enough behind him, we were doing about 95, the frikker went all the way to the other side of town like that (about 20 mi.), turned around, and went all the way back just as fast! for no reason!
one time I was on the interstate, this cop was literally 5 feet off my back bumper, there was cars in the other lane so I couldn't get out of his way and he wouldn't back off, so I sped up so then I could get over in the other lane. guess what? speeding ticket. I said what the hell? he said you were speeding. I showed up in court so I could tell the judge what happened, she said "well? were you speeding? that's why you got a ticket"
I went to the driver's class thing to keep a point off my license, and aske dthe instructor (cop) why they all drive so fast without their lights or sirens on like they're supposed top when they're driving over the speed limit. "they might be on their way to a domestic disturbance or something, if it was your girlfriend, wouldn't you want us to get there in time??" I said "...and they're supposed to turn on their lights, why don't they ever do that" he stuck with his (invalid) point.
I asked another one at another class, he said they might have a beating heart in the trunk they have to get to the airport so they can do a transplant. (seriously, he said that) I said "all of them? I see cops speeding all day long, they all have beating hearts in the trunk?" he said "you just have to understand" I said "understand what? what's there to understand? or were you just now lying about the organ transplant thing?" he just quit talking to me.
yes I drove when my license was suspended. I had a job to go to, which I needed to pay for books, gas and car insurance so I could drive my car to classes at college. no car, none of the above.
speaking of which, when it was suspended, I called up the cop shop to ask them what to do about renewing my license plates while I had no license. he said can't do it, "in fact", he told me, "you're not supposed to own a car when you don't have a driver's license." I asked him what I'm supposed to do with it. he said to sell it in the paper, whatever, just get rid of it, cuz I'm not supposed to own a car when I don't have a driver's license.
ya, right. somebody needs to just throw them all in the ocean and start all over.0
