Why did Humans Evolve
to were they need to wear clothes?
I thought we would have evolved to have some fur or something to keep us warm and protect us from the environment.
Instead we evolved to where we need to wear clothes.
I am really stumped on this evolutional point.

Try running through the woods naked sometimes. Footwear or loincloth? Which came first? I would much rather have a good pair of shoes than pants.
Most all creatures would benefit from the protection of outerwear. Few have the ability to fabricate it.0 -
Apes have fur - humans evolved from apes. Some apes have very little fur.
As humans evolved (from apes) and their capacity for memory increased, they were able to better use the environement and lose traits that were no longer necessary. In this case, excess hair.0 -

I dunno. My dog looks pretty stupid when my wife puts clothes on it.0 -

You should explain this to my dad. He's got a full-body sweater.0 -
Humans travel their enviroment. Hot to cold all in 1 day the excess of hair in the hot areas would keep hairy people in the cold. The lack of hair ,,,,,you know. 0 -
I had always wondered why the rest of the monkeys didn't evolve with us. But with recent breakthroughs explaining why people are alcoholics, and homos, etc. I think the answer lies in genetics. They had the "don't evolve" gene. 0 -
Simply put, your question is meaningless MVP. I don't mean to be a smartass bud (though I admit it does come kinda naturally), but asking why presumes there is a predetermined goal of evolution. There is not; many, many random mutatations occur over time and those which survive either by conferring adaptive advantage, or which make no difference are retained. So, but the point when hominids became nearly hairless, it was no disadvantage, because hominids either lived in a very mild climate, or as things changed, or they moved to less hospitable climes, they were able to conceive and make coverings for their nakedness. 0 -
Homos have a underdeveloped thinggy part in the brain according to the scientists....So that poor people is sick its not their fault and we much respect them....and there's this laws regulating their right to exist....
Hmm.....Alcoholics i dont know about...But i heared one out of ten becomes an alchoholic.0 -
He dog so then the hair should have been start growing again u hairless monkey [;)]
and as i said before (more or less) Gorillas and chimps live in a very mild climate but look how hairy they are.0 -
Sorry talented, not sure I understand the question. If climates dictated more hair, it would be a secondary adaptation, but clothes prevent that, and besides, with global warming we will probably have even less.[}:)] 0 -
Mountain gorillas sleep through some pretty chilly nights. The hair on chimps is not likely to offer much insulation, but more likely shades them from sunburn. 0 -
Clothes? What the heck are those? 0 -
You makes sence i must say....
But look at the whole picture then....Did'nt homo sapiens (we) need a nice fur in that case when we lived in africa then....Or what about the africans...0 -

WRONG!
Apes and mankind diverged from a common ancestor, but mankind did NOT evolve from apes.
As far as why we evolved to the point where we require clothes, as He Dog says, the question supposes some sort of ultimate goal for evolution, of which there is none.0 -

"They had the "don't evolve" gene."
That makes sence to me,just look at our dogs how fast they evolved to different species...
I dont think there were Pudels and Beagels in the stoneage....0 -
they evolved to not have fur, because God said so! so they could be nekkid and have something to be ashamed about, otherwise they couldn't be p-whipped into submission. and giving all their gold to the church. and political power. and altar boys.
can I get an amen, brothers!0 -

What was the common ancestor? A dolphin?0 -
what kind of dust was Adam made out of? 0 -

Taking a second look here - what makes you think humans evolved?

Here we goooooooooooooo!

One assumes that an evolutionary change in an animal takes much time and energy to complete. One also assumes that a change occures to further secure the continuence of the species. So tell me this;
why would the ancester of modern man evolved the reproductive system that we now see in females? Think about menstration and the cave girls. Do your chances of survival actually increase by once a month having your females smell like a wounded animal to bears, lions and all other predators? Effectively bringing predators right to your door step? Now of course the men during this time would have to stop their hunting and gathering, at least in part to defend the females from the animals that are sure to be drawn by the smell of fresh blood each and every month, if not every day of every month. So is this really the best idea that evolution could come up with? To invite attacks from predators?
But at least evolution was kind enough to go through the trouble of evolving a hymen within the female so that her cave husband knew that she was pure on their wedding night. [;)]0 -
It was to show a retrospective of wealth, the great warriors from scandinavia,(vikings) had to wear protection, the romans had to do better..its a class thing..
The greeks , gold jewelry etc..
Also to keep warm thru the winters & be able to carry items.!!
Hence t'day..Kalvin Klien, Hugo Boss etc...wearing labels outside??
thats my $10 -
"I thought we would have evolved to have some fur or something to keep us warm and protect us from the environment".
Actually that is what we evolved from!!! Just go to wally world on friday evening and you'll find all the evidence you need that we evolved form booger eating ass-picking apes!!!!
Humans are probably the ultimate freaks of nature... we think we think, but all the other life forms are smart enough not to screw with crap and upset the balance... We think? Maybe!!! But not very well!!!0 -

How far back do you wish to go?0 -
Butr evolution as taught by evolutionists is that the animals adapt and get stronger. The need for a human to wear clothes seems to be the opposite.
If we came from monkeys and monkeys are very capable of survival with out clothes why would the Human evolve to a lesser species and require clothes?
That is going backwards.0 -

Hey MSUT, who is that in your signature pic, Elton John?
Just wondering...0 -

Not if we hadn't left freaking Africa and remembered we needed to stop every couple hundred miles for a thousand years or so.
Impatience is a sure sign of a dumb critter!!!0 -
