Every veterans organization was against this law because they knew it was a law that was going to take the rights from this countries veterans!
I will never give the NRA another penny for anything and I know many who are canceling thier memberships as well! And we are calling for all gun owners who truely believe in the 2nd amendment the way it was written to do the same!

That is partially correct, GRD. Virginia law prohibits firearms on school property, K-12, permit or no. The Virginia Citzens Defense League lobbied for an exception that basically allows permit holders to possess one in their car while on school grounds.
However, the rule prohibiting firearms on the Va. Tech campus is a University rule, not Virginia law.0 -

My fears have been realized. As a graduate student at Virginia Tech, I have been adamant about changing the university's policy forbidding students from defending themselves. Before I proceed, let me please express my deepest condolences to those who have lost family, friends and loved ones in this awful tragedy. I do not want anyone to misconstrue my pleas for reform of university policy with a disregard for the human impact of this calamity.

the problem still falls back to who decides who is unstable or not,if you follow the arguments for and against firearms you will already know most of the medical field is against the private ownership of firearms,then people say you can appeal,,yes you can but who is going to pay all the legal fee's,alot of disabled veterans live month to month and cant pay a lawyer to get back rights they should have never lost to begin with,this was a bad bill to begin with,it was done in an emotional rush after the Tech shooting,No one wants severe mental cases to have access to guns but you cant take the rights away from masses to keep them away from the few
