Cowboy boot help...
Since it looks like I'm entering a Country & Western phase of my life,
I guess I need some cowboy boots, like the other fake cowboys at the Silver Spur have - Last Saturday I stuck little signs on my Nike's proclaiming that they were "cowboy boots". It didn't seem to impress the crowd.
Here's is my challenge: My feet are shaped like duck feet and I want pointy toed boots, that don't hurt.
Without breaking the bank, does anyone have any suggestions for solving this absolutely trivial problem ??

I've had Naconas, Tony Lamas, Justins and Dan Posts. None of 'em were nearly as comfortable as my $120.00 Ariats.
On the plus side: Ariats were designed by women for pregnant cowgirls. No kiddin'. They are hands-down the most comfortable boots I've ever worn.
On the minus side: They're assembled in China.
My feet don't care where they were made, though, so I'll probably buy another pair when I'm in the market.

ROTFLMAO! Sorry Doug, just had a visual of a duck in cowboy boots![:D] See what you can find in Antelope or Wildebeast hide, those are the two easiest to break in. The wildebeast wears like elephant hide, but soft like antelope.
Getting a good fit is important, you want em snug across the balls of your toes, and a bit loose in the heel. If you're not use to wearing them, I'd suggest a Vibram rubber sole, a smooth leather sole might leave ya sitting on your butt in the middle of the dance floor!

Doug, most of us who actually wear boots because its part of our work gear on the farm or ranch will tell you to go with Justins, Wolverines or Ariats. They are comfortable and dont pull your feet into a point.
I quit using regular pull on boots about 10 years ago and use strictly lacer style ropers now (Justin for going out and Wolverines for working).
Justin ropers can range from about $80 up to $500 depending on the style and materials. Ariats are about $120-$300. Since you are only using them at the Spur, then I would try the Justins first as they are a little less expensive. But if your feet dont feel right in them (they run a bit narrow), try the Ariats.0 -
Robert - Are those boots considered to be "cowboy" boots ??
I've always thought of that style as being "engineer" boots, or "murdercycle" boots

I would recommend you try Double H Boots they are very comfortable....also be sure and try a wide boot like a EE.....that may help with it not feeling tight. But I also like Justin Workboots they have a really nice rubber sole and are very comfortable. Hope this helps

Now if you are talking jeans for Doug gagirl...there is only one brand that can be worn.
Wranglers...it is up to you as to whether you want the 13MWZ (original cut) or the Slim Fit.
13MWZs are what I wear when I am actually working on our friends place since they give a little more to bend, pull three point strand, climb on and off a horse, etc.
Slim fit is more comfortable for out and about in town.
Dont go buying none of them fancy smancy name brands...they dont hold up as well IMHO. [:p]0 -

If you are dressing to impress and need a pair of COWBOY boots, you've come to the right place.
I suggest a dark brown lizard or ostrich leg boot by Tony Llama, Post, Mahon or Arias. These are nice enough boots and won't break the bank.
Lucchese are my personal choice but $500 on up is a little rich for some folks blood. But if you want boots that fit like a glove[:)], these are where you want to land.
The Llamas, etc., and Arias line will get you started without embarassing yourself any more than you likely are.

I have NEVER put starch on mine...hell I had to have starch on my military uniforms all day long...sure dont want them on jeans.
Not to worry, the 501s will be ok (I guess...LOL), just kinda get the wrinkles out of them and dont have them loose and baggy like the kids now days (god that irritates me).0 -

I wear Justins. 2 Lizard and one Ostrich. They are very comfortable and durable. I'm wearing a 10+ year old pair of black Lizards that I just had re-soled.
You won't regret a good pair of cowboy boots. They are great! My friend is a Podiatrist and he said, they are very good for the feet.
My son has a pair of Chisolm Boots and he loves them too!

Lucchese 1883 Mad dog ostrich. I agree they are the most comfortable boot I have worn. I like them so much, I bought two pair! I have seen them on sale for $269.00 Not bad for a great boot.

These were new...never worn. Complete w/stacked leather heals...real cowboy boots!
