What would you do if an older person hit on your..
Lets just say you were the parent of a SIXTEEN yr old girl. She is VERY pretty and comes around your business from time to time. Everyone kids a little about your "hot" daughter....but you are very clear that she is VERY off limits. Since the younger guys range from 19 to 26 at the store there is bound to be a bit of flirting and playing around when she comes around.
Here comes the kicker....
What if you found out that one of the guys had actually texted your daughter......trying to get her to SNEAK OUT from a friend's house and had promised things like drinking and maybe other things.
I want to say a teeny bit of this problem is the wilder nature of the little angel I am blessed with and I am CLEARLY trying to handle all that comes with raising a head-strong girl in today's world.
BUT.... The young man who is old enough to know better I think is more to blame for this wrong doing and is due a huge WAKE-UP. OR.... at least a small explination of just what can and will happen to him if he doesn't realize exactly how wrong what he tried was and realizes that breathing in and out is a gift from me from this day foreward and if he chooses to he can refuse this gift and call my daughter again. The choice is his.

warn him his job is on the line...and also make sure you tell your "hypothetical" daughter that if she were to take up the offer and you found out she would be 50% responsible for that person loosing their job...it might work, nothing to loose trying it

In no uncertain terms I would lay down the law. Including a depiction of the exact consequences that he will expect if he continues. I would be very blunt and make sure he completely understands the gravity of the situation. 0 -

She may be a firecracker...but I think this offer was even beyond what she thinks of as acceptable. I never thought there would be a moment where she chose the safer, more respected choice...but she did. She still lost her cell phone (until her DAD gives it back) for texting this young man after being told NOT to.
This young man will be coming into the back office with me sometime tomorrow....where I may just take his cell phone and put it in my safe along with hers.[}:)]0 -

While I have a daughter too (very close in age) , the responsibility is 50/50. He isn't forceing anything on her. You may not approve of him, nor my like to think of the things he is obviously thinking, but ultimately SHE will do what she WANTS to do, consequences be damned.
LF are you having a hard time realizing that she is 16, and 99% of girls her age aren't virgins anymore? Mine I have to worry about too. What can you REALLY do other than discourage bad behavior and administer punishment when appropriate?

As for your daughter; she has too much time on her hands. She needs to be kept busy
learning an instrument or get involved with church or school clubs that will reduce opportunity and exposure to boys

I have an attractive 17 yr old daughter. Lots of boys coming around the house and hitting on her in public.
I tell every boy the same thing "I treasure my daughter and will hold you responsible for her safety and well being. I expect you to act like an gentleman and I expect my daughter to act like a lady" I also tell the same thing to their parents. I punish my daughter for any failure to follow our rules. Is she perfect.... NO. Has she been punished....YES. Actually been arrested once. And so have some of her boy friends. Heh Heh Heh.
Seriously, confront each and every incident that could endanger your daughter head on. You are the parent! Good luck.0 -
