Best War Movie?

I just saw "A Walk In The Sun" last night (for about the 87th time) and I guess it's my favorite war movie. Star cast, gritty events and memorable characters.
It beats out my next in line for the title, "Yesterday's Enemy" . Stanley Baker is in a tough spot and it dosen't get better. See it if you didn't alreaady.
BTW, this has likely been covered a dozen times before - I just didn't see it.

    Didn't see that anyone picked "The Bridges at Tok-Ri"

    I've never been able to figger out how they faked the crash landing of the Panther. Everytime I see it, I can't see where it was faked.

    So many that sometimes you forget. Having seen it again recently, I have to say my all time favorite is "Sahara." The original with Bogey, in B&W. That's a great movie. The new version does not compare. Same with "Flight of the Phoenix." You can't improve some things.

    Courage Under Fire with Meg Ryan. Even covered with blood and dirt,in ripped fatiques Meg gives me wood. Good story too.

    You didn't read my post very well. It's listed under most patriotic. It was pure tear jerking propaganda, but that's beside the point of the thread.

    Do people actually classify some of the movies they listed as THE BEST WAR MOVIE? Are the toy boats shown in the movie IN HARMS WAY the BEST special effects you have ever seen? Is the sappy acting and outright theft of a WWII British triumph as seen in U571 the BEST submarine movie you've ever seen?

    Maybe I'm being a little too precise, but the topic was the BEST WAR MOVIE, not just something different from everyone else. [;)]
