Calling all O.B.C.A.s

Canary ass no. 1
Order of the Brethren of the Canary Asses,
This infrequent meeting is necessary to discuss the induction of two members;
Gentlemen of the O.B.C.A;
I apologize if I missed counting a vote..attempting to pick thru this 'herd of catamounts' is tough. I watch particularly for negative comments...and there have been NONE directed at the new members. Solid Citizens..and I would be proud to drink a cup of coffee with any of them..or share a foxhole.


There has been a rash (several)of requests for induction into the Order of Canary Asses.
By popular acclaim, the offer was tendered to Pickenup;

Pickenup has graciously accepted the title of Honorary Member of the O.B.C.A
He has stood fast and advanced the cause of freedom for all of us.

Highball ; No. 1

Get thee forth and spread some snit over the Collectivists that infest America..perhaps an Individual will grow from the husk.

Gentlemen, the best of the best are stepping forward to join this unique organization ..supporters of the ORIGINAL Constitution all.. a rare commodity even when it was written.
Men that have decided that they will not go quietly into that long dark night of oblivion of the Individual and supremacy of the Collective.
Men charged by the spirit of dead warriors to uphold that which they fought and died for...FREEDOM !!

The numbers bother me;
For every man here is a leader in his own right. That, gentlemen, is the nature of an Individual. In his own AO, every man here will be the leader needed to being order out of chaos.

A leader firmly based in the Law of the Land..the Constitution.







Gentlemen, throw your votes in here to increase the membership of this rather exclusive group...Constitutional supporters and rugged Individuals ALL.

    Pinal County Arizona, between Phoenix and Tucson.

    That is, at least until I retire in 3-5 years, then it will be the mountains of North-Central Arizona.

    Open and eager to any reasonable possibility of meeting any of you, as the wheels of chance turn.

    I was out at the Emergency Response Training Center for a Haz-Mat response class. Here's our class pic:

    2nd row (1st standing row), I'm the 6th one from the right (your right). I was out there with 2 of my cohorts from Winston-Salem FD.

    AH the smokehouse.

    I remember doing some of my "24 hour training" in one of those.

    I also remember doing by first responder coarse and cutting the shirt off a hot "instructer" during practicals.

    I have given some thought to resigning as No.1 in favor of a more..shall we say..winning personality ? In order to alleviate the angst of some with me personally.

    Put that thought from your mind. We do NOT need winning personalities - we're not running for office, or miss congeniality - what we need are people who will not sugar coat or dumb down the message. Sometimes people need a good swift kick in the rear to shake loose the cobwebs, it "separates the wheat from the chaff" as it were and can stiffen the resolve of those who's minds are not permanently closed to the issues at hand.

    HB, no, you can't resign. I don't think these particular folks would have issue with you in any way, but, as you wish. I will do it.
    Anyway, as I was away for few months and returned after this was already begun, is why I felt a little "outside", if you know what I mean. Thanks for the very kind words. While this entire group is the cream of the crop, you and Mr. McManus are indeed something special, to me.[^]

    A suggestion would be for all canaries to qualify as riflemen in the next available appleseed in your area. Go to

    to find out more. You may find (as I) that 1) you ain't as good as you may think you are 2) a whole ton of suprisingly like minded folks.

    It is my intention to attend an instructors boot camp next summer, God willing.

    I consider myself to be a "canary" on a couple issues not involving gun control.....positions that have placed me on the opposite side of the debate, appearently siding with "collectivists".
