I am proudly known as Canary Ass No. 4, Hunter.

In the other thread, I voted Yes and Yes, for Marc and freemind.

No. 4 returns and votes an unqualified Yea on pickenup, IF he wishes to be part of such a narrow-assed, alligator-mouthed, befeathered and unruly grouping of Brethren.

A band of "rugged individualist" is a sight to behold.

My post in GD has generated a request for membership from MT357.

I post this as FYI only and for the review/comment of the Brethren.

I have research to do in that area prior to any recommendation from No. 4, but my general impression of him is good, with the understanding that detailed research has not been done by me.

Pickenup would be a superb addition to the Order of C.A.s...

I have thought so since the beginning.
He may well wish to remain aloof, so as to maintain a semblance of a fair, steady hand on the stick, so to speak.
I have no doubt he is perfectly capable of smiting we of the Order just as well as the miscreants we deal with...because he has done so in the past.

    Perhaps an "Honorary Member"..???
I leave it up to the Brethren and Pickenup..

Same here. He seems to be of like mind.

MT357 has come a long way..and has my vote.

Pending the results of the honorable gentlemens' research, we shall see what we see....

I'm not sure I'm worthy of membership amongst this highly respected and honorable group of constitutionalists.

    All should be proud!!

It appears that MT has his schit wired tight:

Obama could be worse than McShame, but that doesn't make Shame anywhere close to a supporter of the second amendment.

"......the right of the people to keep amd bear arms shall not be infringed."

When that was written with a chicken feather, "the people" had the finest most up-to-date arms in the world. Likewise it needs to be today.

Not to hard to figure out.

    quote:

    1. There could be no tax or fee for permits or registrations.
    2. No person could be forced to take or pass a test in order to enjoy the right.
    3. No waiting periods to obtain firearms could be enforced.
    4. There could be no rationing programs like the one gun a month idea.
    5. Any American other than felons or mental defectives could buy a firearm in any state.
    6. The carrying of firearms outside of prisons could not be prevented.
    7. Most or all of the 1934 National Firearms Act would be invalid.

They got #1 wrong. If we have a right to keep and bear arms there will be NO permits or registrations

Much to my dismay I think McShame will win.[V]

CA #2 votes 'yea' for Mr. MT[;)]

No. 4 concurs with No. 2. Yea on MT357.

Any lingering 'rough-edges' can be filed off by the Brethren.

So, if an "individualist" joins a group or a club, doesn't he/she stop being an individualist by definition?

I am honored to be mentioned for inclusion into the membership of such a fine brotherhood, and would gladly jump at the chance in a heart beat.........

I thank you, but as Canary ass no. 1 aptly stated.....(below).....I feel I must decline.

Maybe an "Honorary Member" would be more suited, with no rights or voting privileges.

I have been sitting in the wings, watching this brotherhood form from it's inception.
    Smiling all the while. [:D]

    ******

I have in the past been much more vocal than I am at present. We were much smaller in numbers back then. Didn't make many allies (did make a number of enemies) but I would like to think that I (with a LOT of help) at least contributed, to the effort of opening "some" eyes.

With the passage of time, there has been an influx of a number of like minded individuals. Some have been members here for a while, and after reading some facts, questioned. They had an open mind, and were able to decide for themselves between right and wrong. Others came into this forum with their beliefs already solidly in place. The manor in which they came, doesn't matter. What does matter, is that they are here now, and the number is growing.

More often than not, I see a post from an UNeducated/closed minded individual, and a reply forms in my mind. I read the next post, and "lo and behold" there is my reply in black and....well, sometimes colored print. [:D] I see no reason to echo what has already been said. Many times much more eloquently than I would have said it.

I hope you all know where my loyalties lie. I "think" I have been outspoken enough as to leave no doubt. If not, just ask. I will continue to put my 2 cent in, if/when I see an opening. But you all have been doing such a fine job, I don't get much of a chance.
That is NOT a complaint, in case of ANY doubt, it is a compliment. [:D][:D][:D]

I will also continue to whack members knuckles with a ruler, if they get too far out of line. [}:)][;)]

No. 3 confirms the previous affirmative votes for:

    Marc1301 as CA #6,
    and
    Freemind as CA #7

I also place a vote for the acceptance of MT357 as CA #8.

I also believe the Brethren would be strengthened by the inclusion
of Pickenup, be it as a full member or an honorary member.

On a serious note, I trust we all are advocating the pure message outside our little cyber clubhouse. Though in our day-to-day lives there are times when such discussion would be considered inappropriate, it has been a heartwarming experience to me to see how many people are receptive to the conversation. It has been equally heartwarming to see the open-mindedness of many, given the indoctrination to which most have been subjected throughout their lives.

So, if an "individualist" joins a group or a club, doesn't he/she stop being an individualist by definition?
    Hardly.
Our history is replete with examples of rugged individuals coming together to accomplish a task..then going back to their own lives.

They are a 'team' for a day, a year, or 4 years...but they NEVER lose sight of the fact that they are INDIVIDUALS..and as such, they will be treated with respect.
They do NOT, for example, demand that evey citizen in the country be burdened with sweeping gun control laws just because there are a few bad apples...

    Much obliged, Rack Ops;

We believe that we represent the Founders..pure and simply. If we err, we intend erring on the side of freedom...NEVER the Collective.

As mentioned above..coming together is rather foreign to individuals that think for themselves, fend for themselves, and defend themselves...but as in history, when the Rights and Freedoms we are born with are under unceasing attack from enemies from within AND without we WILL come together as the best of the best.

My only suggestion, as an outsider, is to add specifics to your collective (pun intended [:)]) positions. Something along the lines of HB's brief statement concerning the stationing of American troops and equipement on foreign shores.

Its been said that organizing libertarian-leaning individuals is like herding cats.....angry cats. Specifics provide something to hold onto....which is doubly important since much of your target audience has been turned off by the utter meaninglessness of buzzwords like "freedom" and "change" when used by the parties in power.

Well "brothers",......I just came in from work, and see that I can now add Canary to what I have been called previously!

I will now put in a yea for #7 Freemind, and certainly a yea for "honorary" status for Pickenup.

I believe I have read enough of MT357's postings over recent time, to also vote a yea for #8.

In all seriousness,......like Pick said,......I was one that came here with the basic ideas in my head. I have largely lived my life this way.

Part of me though was being "tamed" by the collectivist thought process. Highball, LT496, Pickenup, and others,.......slowly made me think about some of the outside edges of my belief system.

I believe that a couple of us even had run-ins at one time or another, so to speak.
I was always 90% an individualist, but you guys helped me bring in that last 10%, and to be 100%.
I thank you ALL for that.

    Well, thank you all.

I too, vote for pickenup as honorary member.

I DO much enjoy, his research and his posts.

I think of you all as friends, and as such, would give you all the shirt off my back if you needed it.

Count me in on MT357, I haven't been through his posts thouroghly, but from what I have seen, I find no cause for disagreement with his addition to the fold.

Now we just need jackets [:D]
