there is nothing more to this story and video ...just the other nigerians screaming FOUL against a legal response to one of their CRIMINALS ACTIONS and seeking to gain a boatload of undeserved money so they feel better... over and over and over

Have not seen video from what I read the fellow who got shot pushed the other fellow violently to the ground.

Keep your hands to yourself comes to mind.

I've watched it numerous times, and it's a very, very tricky shooting. I can see both sides of the story.
Old man gets 2 hand shoved to the ground, hits ground hard!
Looks up to see larger in stature BMA hovering over him about 7 feet away.
Old man reaches for gun, aims gun, waits about 2 seconds, fires one round into chest cavity of said BMA.
With that hesitation, BMA is just starting to turn around and walk away.
BMA runs back inside the convenience store, and collapses on the ground in front of his son that was still in the store. Dies.

Now, apparently the old man had been known for calling people out before on using handicapped spaces when they have no disability.

All the BMA sees is an old man yelling at his girlfriend/wife in the car, and he reacts with the 2 handed shove.

Should have kept his hands to himself, but old man shouldn't have been looking for a fight.
Like I said, it's a tricky situation, and I understand both sides. But what the old man did was just on the fine edge of being legal, the VERY fine edge.

Shouldn't have shot after the "pause". At least it wasn't in the back. I'd give it 50/50 odds in court.

About two weeks before the shooting, I pulled in to Little Caesars to get the $5. lunch special, a soda and a pizza.

Since I got my toe cut off the Doc gave me a six month red spaz parking mirror hang tag. A black SUV was in the spaz parking with no handicapped tag or license plate. I parked in an open spot right next to the SUV.

Two black girls and a boy were inside. "Who owns the black SUV"? "I do". said one of the girls. "It's a five hundred dollar fine to park in a handicapped spot". "I'll move it" and she went right out and moved it to the next spot over.

If she hadn't, I would have just called the cops, but she did right so the matter dropped. It wasn't life or death. The guy in Florida should not have argued about it, but the shooting wasn't about a parking space, it was about an assault.

Yoshi, you give it 50/50 because you live in the land of dumbasses. Cali people are cowards and are ashamed of being non black. The old man was assaulted. He gets a pass in Florida.

A very violent two handed shove ! Good shoot as far as I am concerned.

I wouldn't wait to get kicked in the head either.

That's kind of where I am at on the situation. My reaction to the situation is that the armed man was looking for a confrontation.

Since we have no audio, we have no idea of what was being said between the two while the shooter was on the ground with gun drawn. Other guy could have said you better shoot me because I'm gonna kick your ass or something like that.

The shooter will regret firing IMHO.
The leftrd media already hammering the old guy. Of course-He's white.
Bet this costs him his life savings. Or more.
In this day of double standards he'd be in less trouble if he shot white trash I'll bet.

CWP/CCW holders should think long and hard about this - then observe and be aware of the civil outcome of this down the road.

I did not see the video. If you want to be a cop then be a cop If you are not a cop and you see a crime being committed then call a cop. If you tote a gun and start yelling at people for something as trivial as ilegal parking and get in a fight you can?t handle and end up using deadly force then you have some blame.

  • 204targetman
I watched the video. Didn't look to me like deadly force was required. Guy seemed a little over eager to pull the trigger. Anti gun crowd loves stuff like this.

Not in Florida. That's exactly what stand your ground protects you from.

Saw the ONE SIDED video which was no doubt edited and presented along with bias commentary disparaging Florida's stand-your-ground laws.

Just one of hundreds of tragedies exploited by the DEMOCRATs and their sycophants in the media for propaganda purposes..

Just another sign of humans acting like animals in my opinion.Road rage is everywhere and it's seems the more urban density that occurs in traffic the worst it gets!

The white guy did not murder the black man however. He killed him in fear of his life. Remember that old school yard saying? Stick and stones....?

Another problem that autonomous vehicles will solve with other bad habits we humans do,like DWI/DUI driving. The greatest turn in road safety occurs between 3am and 6am on Sunday morning! [:o)]

some man he is.....gets shoved and kills someone. a real man would have gotten up and clocked him back.
ive said it many times, its a right to have gun, but some don't deserve them.
in todays world, gun owners go gunnin' for a reason to use them, much like firefighters start fires to kill station boredom.
plates, bells, cans, paper targets aren't good enough....no, blood is the only thing that satisfies some gun owners.
    I hope he hangs.

at my age and infirmity i could not "clock" someone half my age and twice my size...hope someday you get an education on self defense

I agree. The lady should not have been parked there, but the old guy was giving her a lot of static about it. He was initiating a confrontation. He had done this to others on previous occasions.

And yes, while he was pushed down, the guy turned and was moving away when the old guy shot him. Sorry, but to me that's not self-defense.

If you're going to carry a gun for self-defense, you need to try to avoid confrontations and instances in which you might have to use it. Had the old guy just walked into the store, bought his smokes, and walked out, none of this would be an issue.

The lessons (Which is what we should be more concerned about, what can we learn to avoid this) are these

1: Don't park in a handicap parking space

2: Don't become a self described cop and hassle law breakers for parking in a handicapped parking space.

3: Don't physically attack someone who is upset your beetch ignores common decency and the law and parks in a handicap parking space

This woman stated blatantly "I can park wherever I want"
Yes you can but no, you may not. It is illegal and madam beetch if you had not been such a beetch all of this could have been avoided.

The older white guy is not a cop, stop acting like you are. Wanna be a cop get a job as oh I don't know, a cop!

Tough guy who thinks he can assault people who yell at yo beetch for being a well a beetch how did that work out for you?
You thought you were bigger, younger, stronger and all dat but you forgot that while God made man but Sam Colt made man equal and of all the dumb arses involved and all were IMO you dead man of Da Dindu Nuffin gang you get the coveted Darwin Award. Congrats you won

The guy is playing policeman for the no parking zone. He appeared to be loudly berating the female.
She deserved to be berated, she deserved a ticket.

But, you gonna start something with a stranger, over something that is not directly your business, you must realize that there may be repercussions.

The black guy was a violent jerk, what else is new.

I think that it's strange that the sheriff made the decision to release the shooter.

In most jurisdictions, the shooter would have been arrested & charged with homicide. Then, his lawyer would have met with the states attorney & tried to invoke "stand your ground" to get his client released. That didn't happen.

I don't know what FL law states. But, my impression from the sherrif's interview is that his opinion of stand your ground is that it is not a good law, & this is an example of what legal guns owners are responsible for.

I don't know what "one sided" edited video you saw, but there are rather long unedited ones out there. Here's one that shows the whole event: https://www.liveleak.com/view?t=sqPbL_1532105651

quote:I agree. The lady should not have been parked there, but the old guy was giving her a lot of static about it. He was initiating a confrontation. He had done this to others on previous occasions.

Yep. He could have politely said "Excuse me, do you know you are parked in a handicapped spot?" and walked away, all in five seconds. Instead, he stood and apparently berated her for a minute and a half.

quote:Keep in mind too that he wasn't yelling at the guy who shoved him. The guy who shoved him was in the store. He was yelling at the guy's wife who had her kids in the car.

Walk up and blindside some guy twice your age and half your weight? That's assault and battery, for which you should be arrested.

I think the woman, the white guy and the black guy all made poor choices and acted horribly. Nobody is the good guy in this situation.

It is more past expensive prosecutions that have almost all resulted in not guilty has discouraged the arrest, prosecute, persecute, intimidate, make people afraid to defend themselves mentality face a different mentality called reality.
People can defend themselves and attacking someone puts you the attacker at greater peril than the defender meaning the gray area now belongs to the citizen not the criminal.

It may not always be right but even if you feel this guy shot when he might not have you can not argue the violent man put himself in a position to get shot.
The shooter was arguing with the woman and she was as well but when the boy friend upped the game to physical he made the decision and paid the price.

We have been conditioned to believe it is the defender who must prove beyond reasonable doubt he had no choice.
No more, now you must prove the defender went to far and beyond a reasonable doubt which would be an expensive waste of taxpayer dimes
The boyfriend made this physical and used his superior strength to attack the smaller man. Ooooops, bad move.

I'm going to probably catch some grief for saying this, but here it goes.

Some people are emboldened when they are carrying. They will say and do what ever they want because that gun makes them feel more powerful then they are. In real life that person is dangerous. I believe this is a small group of people but they makes it hard on the rest of us.

If you are carrying you should avoid self induced confrontations. That gun is an emergency tool, not something to puff up your ego.

I live in West by God Virginia and we are allowed to carry open or concealed without a permit, which is the way it should be. I am also a Peace Officer and I carry every time I leave my house. I don't carry it for any other reason than you never know when your in that movie theater, concert or walking down an aisle of a store and that crazy/fanatical person will open fire on my community. But I will tell you this my gun will never be pulled because "I" started the confrontation.

It looks to me like the old guy was discussing and not arguing. He was calmly pointing to signs and open parking spaces.

Notice how the black dude comes out of the store with nothing in his hands, as in he bought nothing. How much you wanna bet that his woman called him in the store and told him to get out there.

Also, just after being knocked down, the black dude flipped up his shirt and turned sideways. Could the old guy think that he was pulling a gun?

I'd sure like to here both sides of the story other than just the one side.

This post is surreal. You go to peoples houses looking for trouble. Hell you have a radio so you can get there quicker. You drive around looking to get into peoples business [:p] It's like a full time job for you. [:D]

People are overjoyed to see firemen or EMT's show up quickly at their house. Ask how many seeing a cop pull up into the driveway brings a smile to their face.

I personally prefer not to even deal with other people as long as their action does not impact me. I have two friends that are retired cops, both ex-Navy so we get along well anyway and I trust them. They both confided with me at different times not to trust cops and told me if departments ever had an annual shrink eval, they would lose half of the department for mental reasons.

    C'est la vie
