I grew up in Atlanta. Of course we called all soft drinks "coke." You could get an orange coke, or you could get a Dr. Pepper but it was all "coke."
And all I heard as a kid was how wonderful it was to be in Atlanta, where Coca Cola was invented. And Mr. Woodruff spent millions to build parks and museums, and in grants to Emory University. And the Coca Cola building was worth many many millions. It was wonderful! That was all we ever heard.
Of course I drank lots of Coca Cola must say it tasted good.
I grew up and learned about nutrition, and I learned that Coca Cola is just poison. Flavored sugar water. We have epidemics in America of high blood pressure, and heart disease, and Good God diabetes, all partly caused by people ingesting sugar rich crap like Coca Cola. Good God I go into a Wendys and see someone getting a burger, and they buy a "coke" they get a 26 ounce cup, and fill it up and drink it, and refill it before they leave the store. That is two or three ounces of white sugar at lunch. Sickening.
I see a Coke today I see a skull and crossbones. I haven't had a soft drink in decades.
But as they always told us when I was a kid in Atlanta, our city is admired around the world due to Coca Cola. Years ago I was way down in southern Mexico on the Pacific going surfing with my buddy George. Great surfing down there, all the way to El Salvador and the coast of Peru. I was in a little Mexican store, I saw a Mama come in there with a six month old baby. She bought a 10 ounce Coca Cola in a bottle. I saw her open the coke inside the store.
She walked outside, and opened the top of the baby bottle she had and dumped out the milk, and she filled the baby bottle with Coca Cola and began feeding the little baby, the Pride of Atlanta, Coca Cola. Talk about screwing up the brain of an innocent infant, skip the milk and load that baby up with sugar-rich Coke.
