Heard on the radio yesterday something like 75% of todays youth are not acceptable to serve in the arm forces... shaking my head to that....

45 lbs, that's it????!!!!!??? I was an RTO in a lrrp unit and my ruck weighed 100+ pounds on average. That's just my ruck, I still had my LBE gear (4 mag pouches, 12 mags, 4 grenades, 2 canteens, first aid pouch, compass, bayonet, cleaning kit, etc.) my weapon and anything else I could stuff in my pockets. If they can't handle 45 pounds at a minimum, then we are in trouble.

    That is my point.

Well, all I can say is if this woke path is continually pursued then the military will suffer, simple as that. They'll continue to fall short on recruiting new applicants and raiding the DEP pool will eventually blow up in their faces. They missed their accession mission last year despite depleting the DEP pool and it will only get worse.

Given the corruptness of the current Admin, if the military fails at implementing its mission, I don't necessarily see that as a bad thing.

i'm of the opinion that Putin has little time left on this world. whether by "health issues" or by a horrible fall off a 6th floor balcony, and i think it will happen in less than 2 months. Russia's economy can't take 2 more months of this.

China just stepped in and is helping Russia.. weapons on the way..but you guys haven't figured it out yet..but you will..way to late as usual..then you will see who the bad guys really are...this is not just going to go away.. Zelensky already said a lot of America's son's and daughters are going to fight and die for the Ukraine.. time will tell...

For all we know the Chinese have already assisted Russia with weaponry and may have been doing so for a while, how would we know? They share a border over 2500 miles long. We the people only know what we are told and that doesn't mean it's the truth. While we are entitled under the constitution to have a free press its apparent, we do not have one.

    I thought Not.

    Suspicion confirmed.

My Dad was in the Army for 32 Years. ABN CSM, WWII, Korea, Vietnam. He told me if I wasn't willing to fight for this Country, He'd come back and Haunt me.

I am an Army Veteran. (Proudly)

I'm not sure whether one served or not is relevant to the conversation. I'm a twenty-year vet, 11 bang bang and my service isn't relevant to this conversation. The question is whether or not we are headed into a direct confrontation with Russia. My view is that we are. Currently it's a proxy war but it's inching closer. The powers that be have practically admitted that this war is going to go on for at least another 2 years. That's the time it will take to either manufacture or refurbish the heavy weapons pledged to date.

Sorry, but the continual Negative BS about America got a little Old for me. Throws out a lot of opinion (but) in the end what has he done/propose doing to change things?

I get it but the question still remains, are we are a path to direct conflict with Russia and eventually with China?

The trains haven't been derailing themselves. The stock yards haven't all been burning because of lightning. And the chicken barns haven't been up in smoke because the "the cow kicked the lantern over".

    Ok here's a related update:

I think this is going to get interesting very soon. And by interesting, I mean bad.

Well now, since its apparent that Ukraine is going to receive F-16 fighters along with all that goes with them such as weapons, ordnance, spare parts, continuing training. I guess supplying them now is no longer considered a "provocative escalation". How much closer does it bring us to open conflict with Russia?
