Sellers can edit certain details of an active listing on GunBroker.com, including the starting price, reserve price, quantity, title, item description, and accepted payment methods, provided no bids have been placed.
Once a bid has been placed, most listing details are locked and cannot be changed. However, sellers may add supplemental information or additional pictures to an existing listing.
How to Edit an Active Listing Before a Bid Is Placed
If your listing has not received any bids, follow these steps to make changes:
- Sign in to your GunBroker.com account.
- Navigate to Welcome > Selling > Selling.
- Locate the active listing you want to modify.
- Select Edit.
- Make the necessary changes to the listing details.
- Click Continue and follow the prompts to save your changes.
What Can Be Changed?
As long as no bids have been placed, sellers can modify the following:
- Starting Price: Increase or decrease the opening bid amount.
- Reserve Price: Add or adjust the minimum price required for the item to sell.
- Quantity: Change the number of items available for purchase.
- Title: Correct or update the listing title.
- Item Description: Edit product details, specifications, condition, or other information provided to buyers.
- Accepted Payment Methods: Add, remove, or modify the payment options accepted for the transaction.
Sellers should review their changes carefully to ensure all listing information is accurate before saving.
What Can Be Changed After a Bid Is Placed?
Once a listing receives a bid, the original listing details are locked to maintain the integrity of the bidding process.
Sellers cannot change the starting price, reserve price, quantity, title, original item description, or accepted payment methods after a bid has been placed.
However, sellers may still add supplemental information or additional pictures to clarify or provide further details about the item.
Adding Information to the Description
To add information to a listing that has already received a bid:
- Navigate to Welcome > Selling > Selling.
- Locate the active listing.
- From the More Options drop-down menu, select Add to Description.
- Enter the additional information and click Next.
- Preview your changes and click Finish to save them. Select Previous if you need to make corrections.
Important:
- Additional information appears above the original description and is marked with the date and time it was added.
- The original description cannot be modified or removed.
- Sellers may add text, HTML, or pictures to the listing. JavaScript is not permitted.
Adding Pictures to an Active Listing
Sellers may add additional pictures to provide further details or clarification about an item, even after a bid has been placed. See Adding Text or Pictures to Listings.
However, once a bid has been placed, existing pictures cannot be removed from the listing.
Additional Listing Restrictions
Once a bid has been placed, sellers also cannot:
- Extend the listing duration.
- End the listing early.
- Change the original terms or conditions of the sale.
Sellers are responsible for ensuring their listings contain accurate descriptions, pricing, accepted payment methods, and terms of sale.
We recommend reviewing all listing details before publishing an item, as editing options become restricted once bidding begins.
