Well now, that's funny, the orders I was issued on December 27, 1966 clearly instructs me to report to the U.S. Naval Training Center, San Diego, Calif. Unless things had changed by 1979, the Recruit Training Command (RTC) was contained within the San Diego Naval Training Center, both physically and as a subordinate command. Of course, I might be overlooking the possibility that you were on a super double secret assignment.[:0][:0][:D][:D]0 -

My orders stated "RTC", and yes, I agree that it was in the same location as "NTC" (actually, it was on the other side of the bridge)... of course my entire company was made of Submarine Service volunteers... so maybe they did keep us in a "super secret" place.
There are two types of ships in the world... Submarines and TARGETS![}:)][:D]
