How is Tank Johnson doing?
Chicago Bears really miss him. It funny. A team is winning and a team suddenly has righteous standards and virtues to uphold.
When the team sucks, those virtues go out the window.
The Bears suck right know. I expect them to hire a thug or two this off season then be shocked when the players have some run-ins with the police.

So far Tank has been a model citizen. I doubt it will last after he clears probation. 0 -
Tank is fine and folded tenderly into the loving arms of us Cowboy fans. He is home now, and doing fine, thanks. So is T.O., another one that wasn't supposed to change his ways.
You may now go back to your Fathead of Rex Grossman confident your wayward "thug" brother Tank is in good hands.
At least one of the Bears will get to go to back-to-back Superbowls!

I miss Vince Lombardi, Paul Brown, and Harvey Martin too. C'mon NUNN, change is inevitable.
The one constant is I am always behind the Cowboys, win or lose.

Change is inevitable, to be sure, but it isn't necessary to disregard the morals clause that used to be in all the contracts, and hire amoral criminals.
Most of these sports thugs, were it not for the God-given talent for which they have NO appreciation, would either be in prison or working the drive-up window on the night shift at McDonald's.

This is different from everyday life, how? Different from college sports, how?
Give me a break with the "morals" stuff. Just as many "moral problems" happened on Tex Schramm's and Landry's watch.
As a matter of fact, the Cowboys have had no major problems with discipline in quite awhile.
I am sure a bored Titans fan can chime in here and list them, so I don't have to...
GO COWBOYS!

David,
Funny you should say that. Clint Murcheson, couldn't stand Tom Landry. He sold the team to Jimmy Jones, because he couldn't stand the play calling of Landry. However, he couldn't find it in himself to fire Landry for fear of how the fans would receive the news.

I don't like Jones either.
Say, reckon I could spy me a chunk of land where I might like to put a nice sporting goods store? Reckon I could get the local government to pay for the land, and the building, and all improvements, all with YOUR money, and then deed it all over to me? And supposing some poor little old lady has a home on the chunk of land I want, reckon the local government could force her off her place, and pay her what they think it's worth? After all, the community as a whole will benefit from the new business, increased employment, more tax revenue, etc. Why shouldn't the local government run people out of their homes, and then decree that the taxpayers pay to establish a local business, and then give the property away to an already insanely rich business man?
And I don't buy Papa John's pizzas anymore, either.0 -

Puhleeze.
Do you drive on public roads?
Need to give those up too...0 -
Nobody ever asked me to pay for a public road and then give it to a private business. 0 -

Really?
There is one right next door to my office!0 -
So, what private business owns that road? 0 -

Wasn't Tank's "crime" posession of a pistol without having an Illinois Firearms ID card?
The law that they locked him up on is unconstitutional.0 -

Thing is, I REALLY enjoy watching the 'Boys play! All qb's should play with the attitude of Romo. Maybe when Jones sells the team, I can come back into the fold and be a fan once more.0 -

eboydell,
My bag, but there was a DE player back then named Jimmy Jones who played for the boys. He also caught an interception off of Jim Kelly in the 52 to 17 butt whipping, that he cashed in for a TD.

Go Cowboys!!!
HEY! HEY! HEY!
First of all, Rex Grossman is not a "Fathead".
He is a MENTAL MIDGET!
Get it straight.
Not my words, but Ron Rivera, the former Defensive Coordinator, who the Bears fired because they lost the Superbowl, gave Rex that title.
Second, just tell me who is the current National FOotball Conference Champs?
That's right. It's the Chicago Bears, not the Dallas Cowboys.
The Cowboys ain't nothing yet, except a team whose qb chokes in playoff games.0 -
quote:AH! Let us not forget those five (5) Super Bowl VICTORIES
AH! Let's see....when was their last Super Bowl win? Me thinks it was in 1995!!! This group of players hasn't won squat! Seems like I remember that they haven't even WON a playoff game since 1996. Wow! What a great run they are on! [:o)][:o)]0 -
A true fan of any team doesn't have a "What have you done for me recently attitude".
Any Dallas fan knows what this team has done since 1960.
The Cowboys have put 10 players in the hall of fame.
They have made eight (8) Super Bowl appearances'. (NFL Record)
They have won five (5) Super Bowls, Tied with Steelers' & Forty Niners.
(VI) 1971, (XII) 1977, (XXVII) 1992, (XVIII) 1993, (XXX) 1995.
They have been Conference Champions ten (10) times.
1966-67-70-71-75-77-78-92-93 & 1995
They have been Division Champions eighteen (18) times.
1967-68-69-70-71-73-76-77-78-79-81-85-92-93-94-95-96 & 1998
Even through the current team has not had any personnel involvement in the teams past winning history, they are well on their way to setting new standards from which all future Cowboy teams will be judged by.

My!
Perhaps we will meet again, if Chicago can manage to win a couple. Then we can see who chokes on what.

Lance WHO??? 0 -
Seriously who's lance? The team's gay mascot? 0 -
Lance Rentzel. He was a wide receiver for the Cowboys until he was arrested for exposing himself to a little girl. He was fired immediately. They didn't even wait to see if he would be convicted. That was that. That's why I said, "Lance WHO?" Because no one ever heard from him again. He was picked up by the Rams, but he was outta here, but fast.
So, we should have heard, "Michael WHO?" among others, but we didn't. All that matters is how well they play. If you play well, you can be a drug using, drug dealing, raping, drunk driving, murdering low-life and still remain on the roster.0 -

Just cause the fun is gone for you, you don't have to suck it dry for the rest of us.
Continue to dwell on Irvin and have a fun party. I will dwell on Emitt, Roger, Tom, Tony, Wade, Whitten, Troy, Randy, Dandy, Harvey, Lee Roy, Too Tall, etc., etc.
There is not a profession on earth that doesn't have examples like you cite.
Except maybe the clergy. [:0] You gonna down religion next?0
