When my buddy and I were 16 we shot at some Quail that were in a roadside ditch with our .22 rifles. It was all fun and games until we noticed the sheriff pulling up behind our truck.

My grandpa tried the same thing with a 20ga one time while we were hunting, I was not impressed.

For myself it would be the stop sign I shot with a red rider from about 25 feet away. I really did nearly shoot my eye out. the bb came back and got me right in the tear duct.

I shot the engine block of a junked car in the woods with a 30-06 and AP.
A chunk of metal flew back and stuck in my thigh. It didn't bleed much.
About five years later it turned into a boil, and I got it out. I hadn't even realized there was any metal in there. It was a jagged chunk 1/4 inch across, about 10 grains.

A half full propane (gas grill sized) tank when I was about 12. we had shot a few of the little Coleman tanks the day before and they were spectacular!, so it seemed like a "good" idea at the time. I hit it low on the tank and was only about 40 feet away. The 7.62x54 tracers I used worked really well! The tank came straight back at us and cleard my head by about a foot befor going through the side of the barn like a flaming rocket. It hit an old 8x8 beam and then exploded like a bomb starting a fire we barely put out befor the whole farrowing barn became a smoldering heap! 150 head of pigs in the basement, and about 8 tons of hay and two horses in the top. Needless to say I was grounded from the guns for a year...not that it worked for Mom and Dad (I just went to friends houses and we shot there). Lesson learned though.

That is a good one, very good!
Let's see, a 12 year old yard ape with a Mosin Nagant and tracer ammo.
    Sounds like a dangerous combination.

Oh, well I never shot anything dumb![}:)] I have a good buddy that borrowed his dads S&W 29 when we were alot younger. We were in the hills shooting and he spied a bowling ball laying out in the clearing. I was leaning against the seat of the drivers side of his truck. When I saw what he was going to do I stepped forward and shouted don't shoot that bowling ball! To late he plugged it alright. The bullet came back and shattered the drivers side door window that I was standing next to. I was standing in it 10 seconds before. Needless to say I have never let him forget that. "Hey remember that time you almost killed me with that bowling ball?" Had him sweating bullets when I was his best man at his wedding!

Actually, it was an SVT-38 and I nearly dropped it...but managed to keep a grip on it! Good thing...it's worth a bundle more than the $100 I paid for it. I may be something of an Ape, but at least I know a good investment when I see one.

In 1983 me and 2 buddies executed a Papa Smurf(a stuffed that one buddies girlfriend had given to him when they started to go out) we put him on a fence post and blindfolded him and let him have his last cigarette. At about 10 feet we all blasted him to heck with 12 gauge, firing squad style. we only found little pieces of him[:D]

once me and my brother (he was 10 i was 12) were out shooting the knotholes in a stump.

It must have got to easy, I guess, so we got this BRIGHT! idea that we would put a LOADED 22lr round into one of the holeS that we had made went back to where we had been standing (20-30ft maybe.)You know the rest... the brass came zinging back and poped my right between my ring finger and middle finger on my left hand which hand been supporting the forearm. I still have the scare

My car. I was about 21 years old and had '72 Impala. I went shooting my .22 one day when one of my buds pulled up in his pickup. We shot random targets for awhile when he said "I think I'm going to shoot my truck". Which he did in the side of the bed. So naturally I had to shoot my car, which I did in the trunk.
A few days later I was at my folks house when my dad spotted the bullet hole and asked how it happened. When I told him I had done it on purpose, he just walked away shaking his head. [:D]

Sixty years ago I shot a fist sized gob of dynamite geletin wrapped in alum. foil with a .22 LR. A nice flash of orange flame and smoke along with a good audio report resulted. Ah yes, toys of those days were assume.

Not what I'd call stupid, but more like fun. Back when I worked for the railroad I had access to all the RR Torpedo's I wanted. So I used to shoot them w/my .22 pistol. NOTHING is more fun than targets that EXPLODE!

There is an irrigation canal near where I grew up that gets shut down this time of year leaving some very nice trout stranded. We used to go out and throw Cheetos on the water and when the (now starving) trout surfaced we would shoot them with a .22. Looking back I'm very surprised we didn't end up shooting each other.

My self, When I was about 10 years old. I wanted to see if 1 pump on my Crossmen 760 (I think that was the gun) would hurt. So 1 pump and then put the muzzle on my calf and pulled the trigger. I dropped the gun and rolled around on the ground holding my calf, Using swear word I didn't even know I knew. Yea I was a real dumb azz when I was a kid.

    here, hold my beer [:D]
many years ago a friend shot at a hollow steel pipe that was about 2" thick with his Win. M-70 30-06 at about 20 yds with an AP round, nice crater but no penetration, he loaded another round and as we were walking away, he said "i'll bet it goes thru this time", at about 10 feet he turned and fired, i got a peice shrapnel in butt, he caught most of it from the knees down, didn't know it till i got this stinging sensation in my butt, but it pulled out easily, he said, "i must have pi$$ed my pants my boots feel like water in them, it was blood ![:o)]! he did not want to go to the ER as they had to report gunshot wounds, so we drove home and i played Doctor and tried pulling the shrapnel out with darning needles and crochet hook, i got two out then the pain set in, next stop, ER, they took him into surgery removed 9 more peices of shrapnel and left in 3, he spent the next two weeks in the Hosp., took almost 2 months before he could walk again.

    Greetings,

Growing up back home on Maryland's eastern shore, I hunted hard and hunted often. In 1976, things got better because I was 16 and had drivers license and could really get after it!

So, one cold December day I headed out early in my fathers 1964 Dodge station wagon (50th anniversary special is what the horn button read) and eased up to a farm owned by a family friend. The house was livable but vacant. My plan was to try to kick up a a few rabbits by kicking brush piles. I was armed with a family hand me down shotgum which I still have today. (1897 Winchester Pump ..12 guage, with a poly choke) I parked and headed for the back field

In back of the barn was a pond and as I walked by it, I stopped dead in my tracks ! Sitting out on the pond 40 yards away at the far shore was one of the fattest gander geese I have ever seen ! I couldnt believe my luck ! I wasted no time in bringing up the 97 ... pulled the trigger and ..... PLASTIC FLEW IN ALL DIRECTIONS !

I waited a long , long time before I ever told anybody about that.

I shot my foot with a Crossman 760 when I was in 9th grade.

That was 21 years ago and I still have a perfectly round, BB shaped scar on top of my foot.

I stuffed a 12 gauge shotgun shell into a hole in a tree and then shot the primer with a .22. BANG!

Set a butane canister, the kind you refill lighters with, on some paper, set the paper afire, and then shot the canister. Nice fireball.

A buddy shot the door of his pickup, accidentally, with his .22. Same buddy shot a big slab of concrete with a .30-30 while we were maybe 10 feet from it. OUCH!
