The quiet. I'm not used to being here all day alone.

    The ghosts. [:D]

This house is really long, so the duct work and plumbing have to make really long runs. Expansion and contraction really add up over distance, so there's a lot of movement and noise associated with them. It also has a really steep roofline, and sits on top of a hill, so the wind can whistle in some odd ways too. It all echoes down the hallways, which run from one end of the house to the other.

It usually doesn't bother me too much, as I've gotten used to it. It was a little unnerving when I first moved in, because it always sounds like somebody is moving around in the house or talking. Since I don't have visitors very often, I just assume that any noise I hear is the house. Women get really creeped out by it, especially if they know that both of my grandparents passed away here.

Ditto [xx(], although having bedrooms on the opposite side of the house helped with that problem [;)]. Before we moved into this house 15 years ago we lived in her old house and slept in the same bedroom...Her snooring was unbearable [xx(]. I remember wondering if her first husband was deaf!

Snoring grouch attack ( that female that the law says I have to give money to). As opposed to a hooker which the law says I can't give money to.

...The commentators, when my wife watches sports on TV. I have no interest in sports, but sometimes, I can watch a football game without falling asleep. The damn commentators must think it's like radio, where a couple seconds of dead air is frowned upon. Just SHUT UP for a while.

For the guys and girls whose partner snores...could be a deviated septum...check it out...

Also the breathe right strips really do work....they help a whole lot....

Houseplants. A spider plant, a jade, and a Christmas cactus. Three different plants, each of them have their own opinions. They are very judgmental.
