I HATE CALIFORNIA!!!!
i just got into the second argument of the week about gun rights. Apperently my tree hugging co-workers believe that there should be a law that prohibits ALL guns in the U.S. Although there were only two people that were makeing there points agianst gun rights the whole night shift decided to jump in and go against me as well. I was the only one that was for gun rights.I felt cornered! All of them belived that people like me were the reason that there was violence and death in the world. I tried to get my point accross but no one would let me get a word in. Someone make me feel better about protecting and argueing for my beliefs. I HATE CA!

I have lived in San Diego and have relatives all over California. I think it's a beautiful place. I was born in Kansas and lived most of my life here. We have tornados, mosquitos, heat waves, cold waves, snow and ice storms, dust storms, ticks, fleas, hoodlums, a democrat female governor, however on the upside, zipperzap lives in California. 0 -

I even posted some photos of my Southern California fruits because I expected someone with a troll's mentality would bring up the California 'fruit thing' again. My preemptive attempt was ineffective with you, I can now plainly see. Only foolish trolls and some scattered Floridians, here and there in Southern Florida, shun California's fruits.
I have a tremendous pride in my Country, State and especially in what I say in public. I see and practice no inconsistencies with it. I make it a point not to insult anyone's lifestyle, family, State, Country, ethnicity or those things that they value and hold dear - I do, however, feel personally obligated to point out, uh, certain deficiencies in those less gifted, shall we say ... but only to enhance their understanding and to show them the (sometimes gross) error of their 'ways.'
Therefore, let me state it in perhaps another, less offensive, way. Your parents were perhaps remiss with certain portions of your upbringing and your ethical guidance and nutritional development - or so it appears to me. The fact that anyone would make public their grievances with fruits and nuts only examplifies the (obvious) problem that you have - innate hostilities toward certain food groups - pointing to an early nutritional deficit. Unless you are homophobic - which I cannot believe - you should probably tone down your references to those foods - otherwise you could be misunderstood.

I find no weakness in that - it's they way I was raised - but truly, sometimes it IS a heavy burden to shoulder - and THAT is the simple reality of it - and, incidentally, I relegate my feelings towards my personal food choices as a matter of confidentially, not to be flaunted in public.

I don't live in San Francisco - haven't been there, except to drive through it on the Coast Highway, and have no plans to visit San Francisco.
I'm my travels I have visited many large cities that I avoid - Washington, Philadelphia (my birth place), New York City (although I must admit I did take the train in from Philly last September and did enjoy a few days with my cousin in Manhattan), Boston (there's a fun place to drive where traffic laws are only vague suggestions), St. Louis, New Orleans, Chicago (ugh), Detroit (not even well armed), Baltimore (hahaha - a white guy driving around in Baltimore?), West LA ... I do like Anchorage, Vancouver, Seattle, Quebec, Phoenix (in the winter), Denver, Charlotte, and Tronto. I may have missed some on either side of the ledger. Every other place else seems to be pretty much the same - Drugs have brought crime and decay to most of the nasty ones.
... and it's always a delight to see OUR clean beautiful City by the Bay, next to the ever shining Pacific Ocean!
... can't be beat!

Zip,........if you are referring to me as one of the ones from Florida, so be it. At least correct yourself, and identify me as being in central Florida.
I spelled out what I felt was wrong with CA, very simply, and it is accurate, whether you wish to see it or not.
All the crap you have spewed about other locations does not apply here.
I have lived in Florida since 1966, and the only hurricanes that impacted us, was David in 1979, and the season of 2004, which only dropped some trees, and caused power loss, in this area. 25 years between catastrophes is not an issue for me.
Short of that, I have experienced no disasters, and believe it or not, I can count the number of mosquitoes that I have seen around my place in Ocala, in the past 17 years, on my fingers and toes.
I am 30 minutes away from Crystal River, and the Gulf, as I also love the sea, and boating/fishing.
I could also grow all of those lovely citrus trees here too, if I was so inclined.
I am also neither "lacking in education", nor wanting for financial means.
You have used a very broad brush, to paint the entire continental US, as a "hellhole", unless one lives in CA.
I am VERY happy that you love it there, and since you have started up something that is lacking in our society,..........a movie studio,.....I only hope that what comes out of it, is of a higher quality than the garbage that is piped into my home.
I await some examples of your endeavour.

Given the answers to the above questions what makes you thing the government can keep illegal guns (after all the legal ones are removed) out of the country? A large % of our legally owned firearms are imported form other countries who don't really care who they sell them to as long as the cash is in hand. They will just get here illegally and into the wrong hands.
In all likleyhood the more disarmed the public is the more armed the criminals will become. Disarming honest citizens will only make this country MORE dangerous.[xx(]

I'm probably going to regret this but I am native born Californian. Been and lived in several other states courtesy of Uncle Sam. Please - if you don't like the state don't come! We have way too many people that come and then stay. Yes - it does have strange politics (which I mostly don't like), and if guns were the only criteria then I would move. But I'm with Zipperzap in that I like to do a lot of things as well as shoot. Bit north of him (SF bay area - let the flames start!) but like him when I retire in a few years I'm staying put. Perfect place - no, but for me much better than the alternatives. By the by we are freezing our butts off today as it is going to stay in the 50's. 0 -

Every state has some bad people and politics. There is no escaping it. The problem we all share is that the anti-(insert cause) people are making a helluva racket over things we like. This doesn't really have anything to do with your geographic location, it has everything to do with your demographic. California is, for the most part, populated by your average joe. The difference is that the bleeding-hearts are louder here.
Don't hate California, or any state for that matter, hate the people that are making the racket. San Francisco, San Diego, and Los Angeles are all beautiful cities. (Well maybe not LA) Unfortunately, they are populated by people that make it very obvious that they don't like guns by screaming about it as loud as they can. Same thing goes for New York, Maryland, and many other cities/states.
I am a native Californian. I hate the politics and gun-laws just as much as you all do. From what I've been reading, quite a few of you don't even live here, but you bash CA as if you have some experience dealing with the morons on a day-to-day basis. Give NHoppt some credit for standing his ground against the naysayers. Also, keep in mind that he is outnumbered at work. Its hard for anybody to keep their cool when they are getting crap from all sides. Nobody wants to lose their job because some dumbasses are scared of chunks of metal that go bang. He shouldn't have to move either. His family and friends shouldn't have to lose him because of his coworkers.
I think a better idea would be for us to find a level-headed and coherant counter for the anti-gun lobby. For every crazy-eyed redneck (sorry rednecks) that spouts a litany of gibberish about how their pappy and their pappy's pappy had guns, there is a triple-foam-mocha-soy-chai-latte-sipper that makes a snappy remark. And this drip will get all of his/her friends to stand with him/her for moral support. This sounds horrible, but hows about we use their weapons against them? Every time a gun-owner is ridiculed for being a violent primitive, stop, and (here is the hard part) think of a critical response that doesn't result in any of us resorting to the 2nd Amendment. We need to start our logical arguments from a frontline, not at the last defense. Hell, give 'em crap for whatever you can, but steer away from being defensive about your firearms. Tell 'em their coffee is the result of what amounts to slave labor in central and south america. Tell 'em that their Prius puts more pollutants into the atmosphere during production than a regular car. Tell 'em that you are supporting the world economy by keeping USA a player cuz you buy domestic. I dunno, just don't let them point a finger and yell witch all day long. Give them an equal amount of crap for their lifestyle which apparently includes persecuting law-abiding citizens. If your going to get down and dirty on gun onwership, tell them the truth: I may own a gun, but I have never used it in the commission of a crime.
Couple of side notes:
Isn't it curious that some of the most vehemently anti-gun/military concentrations are around old military bases. Specifically New York and San Francisco. I don't pretend to understand the attraction these a-holes have for historic military posts, but I do find it rather odd.
Also, I am straight, so don't read this incorrectly. I don't really understand the gay-bashing when it comes to San Fran. I could care less what other people put in eachothers backsides. Last time I was in San Fran I had a great time. It really is a great place to sight-see. Never had to run from hordes of gays with massive erections trying to coerce me into having sex, and I doubt any of you have either. What, like you don't have homos in your states? I don't know where some of you get these ideas. Wishful thinking?0 -
