Take her to a vet and have them scan her for a microchip. We had one put in our dog in case he ever get's lost.

My parents have a Husky and they are great dogs. Great around kids and they don't bark. Problem is, she thinks she's a lap dog.

look at that face. she's a total sweetheart.

I hate people that dump dogs, but I guess I should be thankful too, because two of my dogs were dumped, and they're probably the best two out of the lot.

    I found a Siberian around 1985 myself.
Took her home, and placed signs , and ads in the paper.
No response, so I kept her until I found a good home for her.
A bit too large for an inside dog,.......plus at that time I had a small pooch that was not impressed.
The Husky never did anything but play with the pooch, and would pin him down with his paws, and lick him![:D]
Folks that desert pets are among the scum of the earth in my book.[}:)]

You guys would have laughed. She is trained to lead on a leash. So I'm walking her around so she can find that spot to do her thing. You should have seen all my mares come running up to the fence, snorting and pawing, looking at me like I'm a nut for walking a coyote around!!![:D][:D][:D][:D][:D]

I guess she does look like one!

Beautiful dog, we picked up a very energetic brittany 2 yrs ago. She's one of the best dogs we ever had, she had been abused and came with several broken ribs. It was a blessing for this dog that she was dumped in our yard.

Great looking dog. Looks like this dog hit the jackpot. If he was dumped, he is certainly better off now than where he was.

She looks identical to my Siberian - Sweetie - whom I lost a couple of years ago.

If you don't have any luck finding her owners, and don't want to keep her, may I please have her ??

I tell ya Doug, she is a sweet dog. I'm keeping her in my heated shop. She loves it. No messes anywhere. And if you didn't see her, you'd never even know she's in there untill you sit down in the chair, then she's all over you wanting to give you doggie kisses! Yuc!![xx(]

    Doug,

Yes, I live in Iowa. I would like to try to find her home before I commit to anything. She is so nice, someone has to be heartbroke.

Beautiful dog, you should keep her. She's apparently at a better home now.

God bless you for taking her in!

Pretty dog. If you keep her, I hope you have a good vaccuum cleaner, otherwise add that into the overall cost.

Had that happen too, only mine was a pup. Couldn't find anyone to claim her. She stayed for 12 years, died a few years ago. Very smart and pretty dogs, the only problem I had was she would get out of the yard and kill my neighbors ducks, showed up with a chicken one time. Don't know where she found that. We have a Patterdale Terrier now, got her the same way. People who throw animals out like that are scum. I didn't want either one but I wouldn't take anything for them.
Maybe the slow truck going by was looking for her. She looks well cared for. My poor little Terrier was starving when we found her. She's a little butterball now.

No kidding! I was brushing her out tonight, good thing we have horses, as we are equipped to handle mass amounts of hair!

That looks like a blue eyed malamute to me. Brown hair with the black tips? Husky? Nahhh. Malamute.

Depends on the size, and how vocal she is.
My first love, as far as dogs go, was a malamute.
Malemutes dont's bark much, the "speak" more like Chewbacca. Have to get the last word in....
    And the howl....

Friday night we here a truck go by real slow, look out the window, they kept going. Maybe scouting out a deer or something. Nope... Look what's hanging around yesterday (Sunday). No collar, no tags, nothing. And what a wonderful dog! Housebroke, quiet, loving, and hungry!!
There is a chance the dog is lost, but I bet not. We'll keep her around for a few weeks and try to locate home. If not, well maybe we'll just keep her here and find her a good home. I'm pretty sure that if this is a missing dog, there's gonna be someone looking for her.

On top of everyone else's good advice (especially the one about having her checked for microchips), you could also contact one of the breed-specific rescue organizations. They usually seem to do a good job of qualifying new owners.

Of course, ALL of the dogs at my house started out being "rescues that are going to a new home come Monday morning because IsweartoGodwe'renotgonnakeepanotherdamneddogthistimeIreallyreallymeanit...."
