Out here in UPSTATE NY, it is Zwiegles brand. Grilled over charcoal or hardwood fire. Complete with pepper jack cheese, raw or cooked Valdia onions, brown mustard, and ketchup. Wash it all down with Labatts Blue, or Blue Light beer.

Coronado Dogs. Still pink, still good. Mustard relish, catsup, diced onion, maybe a couple with chili, cheese and onion. Boil 'em or cook the over the deer camp fire. Buy the 5 pound pack!

Vienna Chicago style on a poppy seed bun with mustard, onions, tomato, relish, celery salt. Wrapped together in thin wax paper with a pickle spear and fries.
Nothing like a chicago style hotdog!!

Any natural casing dog. Grilled is preferred.

Call me nuts but for cheapo non casing dogs, I like 'em best microwaved. Seriously.

What part of upstate NY? I used to love the Boar's Head brand when I lived in eastern NY. I never found Boar's Head in upstate NY--lived there twice.

I'm kinda weird I guess, but had a dog when I was in Phoenix that I still love. DOesn't matter the brand of dog, but should be a good quality. Wrap it in a slice of bacon, secure the bacon with toothpicks and grill it up until the bacon is good and crisp. Take a hoagie roll, place weiner and bacon in bun and top with: chopped tomatoes, onions, shredded cheese, tomatillo salsa, refried beans, mayo, mustard, and jalapeno pepper slices. Guaranteed to give you a world class case of gas! But dang good! They will be on the menu for Labor Day! Can't wait!! [:p]

i totally like your recipe for the above dogs i will try them this sunday. thanks

    idesman75, and SLING BLADE,

That would be between Syracuse, and Rochester, and couple miles South of Lake Ontario. Actually Sodus Bay. I have had the Boar's Head also, and they too are awesome.

Grilled Hebrew National or Kabasa on a bun. Add sweet pickle relish, mustard, white onions, kraut. Anything else is sissy or Communist.[;)]

One more fan of any Kosher or Kosher-like dog (Hebrew National and Nathans)

One more for Hebrew National, Shofar, or Nathan's

One quart of Kosher Sauerkraut, One onion diced, one pat of butter, one bottle or can of dark beer, boil till back to about a quart - during the boil, cut up (or not) as many as six dogs (or Brats, my fave) into big bite-sized pieces. Add some garlic if you dare (I like a lot) and serve on sour dough buns, with plenty deli mustard. Goes with copious applications of cold beer.

If you want to serve more dogs, or have hungry folks, you have to double the recipe, it needs a lot of Kraut with the dogs.

Hot dogs are made from lips and arseholes. If you knew how they made them you would be disgusted. I would think they use everything like eyeballs, brains, internal organs, etc. Dog food is probably better for you.[xx(][xx(][xx(]

Amen, we make a point of doing those here at home a few times a year.

    They are awesome.

Ketchup on a hotdog is a sin, just like ketchup on a brat.[xx(]

I like all beef Kosher dogs steamed in dark beer with sauer kraut and spicy brown mustard. You know that they make hot dogs out of the stuff they sweep off of the floors and counters at the end of the butchering day. That's why I pay the extra for Kosher dogs.

It's all in where you be. Give me a Jesse Jones or a Carolina Packer grilled or boiled or fried, but you gotta have onions, chili,( Stevens will do well) and mustard, but only I can have my homemade green tomato chow to make it really special. But real heaven is Barefoots stand at the state fair. Best footlongs in the world for the last 30 years.
Wife and I were in the local big box food store one day, had a pack of Jesse Jones weiners in the cart, when this obviously not Southern little young thing walked by and said "what do those things taste like?" to by wife, who replied, "you wouldn't like them, they're for Southerners."

Dan! Are you from New York? I know there are stores, but Yankee Stadium is the only place I've had Nathan's.

Love Zweigle's dogs, but what about "white hots"?

    They rock!

Can only get them in one store within 20 miles....

Not a big fan, so I guess that's why I put sauerkraut, cheap yellow mustard, ketchup, diced vidalia onion, and relish on them. After that, it doesn't matter if they are all beef or something else. Had my first corn dog last year at the NHRA drag races outside Richmond. It was pretty good with mustard on it. After a night of a little drinking, Swwbo and I had to drag the men to Walmart to buy a box.[:D]
