...Drank it when I was a kid in the 70's. They had little 7 or 8 ounce cans that came in 8 packs. We called them "two gulpers." It was OK and I could drink it again. Miller had the 7 ounce bottles that we called "grenades". Nice thing was, they didn't last long enough to get warm.
...Interesting thing: There's a pizza place in Joliet IL that had PBR Dark on tap. That's the only place I ever saw the stuff. Pretty good.0 -

When I was a teen ager and broke I would even drink Animal Beer and would prefer the Fish.
I could usually scrape up the 3.29 for a 12 pack [:o)] I doubt beer has ever been any cheaper in my lifetime.0 -

Our local bar has PBR laying on the floor behind the bar because they have a couple older farmers who prefer their PBR at room temp[xx(][xx(]. They say that they are used to it because they always have beer in the back of their pickups while they are farming. 0 -

PBR is one of them cheap beers that'll surprise you. Very drinkable. I enjoy it from time to time. Cubs, you should try to find some Grain Belt Premium; lightly carbonated, finishes smooth with a bit of a sweet aftertaste, and 5.2% alcohol. 0 -
Yes , used to all the time , and still do occasionally , a small hole in the wall 'ole farts local bar' has it on tap , @ 75 cents a mug no less , just had a mug yesterday while in there eating lunch ?(best 'grilled' real burgers around !!!)........

When I graduated from high school in 1968, PBR was our official beer. Great God, can I remember some fake ids getting flashed at the liquor store, and two guys coming out, each guy with two cases of cold PBR.
We all lived at home, except one buddy who had an apartment.
We all hung out over there and drank PBR. After a few months there, he had made a pyramid of empty PBR cans. It was right against the wall, and stretched from wall to wall, on the floor, so maybe 12 to 14 feet wide. Then, it went up, all the way to the ceiling.
I have an empty antique PBR can right here next to my computer. When my parents moved from the old family house a few years back, I was helping clean out my old closet and found this jewel squirreled away. This is one of the old steel cans, that had a pop top that you pulled completely away from the can. The pop top is rattling around inside the can.0 -
Flashback- Memories of Pabst in Viet Nam- steel cans (slightly rusty) with no stinking poptops- you used a church key (or a knife!) We actually patched bullet holes in helicopters using beer cans, pop rivets, and a little shot of OD Green spray paint. 0 -

Use to get this for $3.92 a case in returnable bottles while in college. Took turns getting it. A buck a night for a six pack of beer. College life was great. Bshooter 0 -
it's crap. I used to sell it. Milwalkee's best beats it 6 ways till sunday. Even Natty Boh beats PBR. Tastes like metal with a heavy finish,..not worth it. IMHO

Way back PBR was sponsor of Friday Night Fights, real big back then. I use to drink it regularly and it had quite a following back in the 50 thru early 70s.[:D][:)][:p][^] 0 -
