I'd still be using a wall phone if it weren't for that little disagreement I had with SPRINT. I was of the opinion that I should be able to use the phone to communicate with other people. SPRINT thought I was just being picky. I might get one of these do-it-all phones one day, but it will be after they get the price under $100. Maybe by then they will work.

I used to live on my phone due to my busness, I would use 2500 min every month calling and taking calls. As soon as I folded my busness I stopped my cell service. I don't need it now so I'm not going to pay for it.

From what I can get, you MUST sign with AT&T in order for you to get the phone....Now what happens if you dont like AT&T or had bad service with them?...Well from what I read, you dont get the phone then....

You want to use it?...Sign with AT&T...Just love having a choice huh?....yes that is sarcasm..

BR...nearly all new cell phone designs that come out are exclusive to ONE carrier. AT&T (or Cingular) just happens to have the I-Phone. I want a Motorola Q, but AT&T hasn't yet received a license to carry them. I don't want to switch to Verizon (i believe it is) just to get that phone. So I will wait a couple of years, and when AT&T carries them, I will get one. No biggie. Kinda like Harley Davidson motorcycles. If I want one, I HAVE to buy one from a Harley dealer and pay their outrageous prices. If I want something else, I go to that other dealer and buy what they carry. YOu can't buy a Harley from Honda or a Honda from Harley. Just the way it is. The cell phone deal is on different.

Sure you do.....Now how did all those powerful top notch lawyers to it 20 years ago?...even 10 or 5?.....Secretaries...thats how....

Need it????????....perhaps you need an efficient secretary, but thats all...*LOL

BLACKROSES, let me TELL you how.

With more people. Secretaries as you put it. They cost more than 4 Iphones a month EACH.

Same "powerfull top notch lawyers" 50 years ago didn't have computers. Guess I don't need mine. With your rational I should be going to court in a horse and buggy, and your reply should come on paper through pony express.

    Nice try.

    Thanks for playing!

Mateo...don't you know by now that BR knows EVERYTHING? If you don't believe it, just ask her. Still love the way she posts her topics in all caps. Like she is saying, "LOOK HERE! THIS TOPIC, SINCE I STARTED IT, IS MORE IMPORTANT THAN ANYTHING ELSE THAT MIGHT BE ON THIS PAGE!!!!" [:D]

I use Revol for my cell phone (revol.us) which is a local carrier with no contracts and $37 a month unlimited calls $47 for unlimited text and caller id. I don't do a lot of traveling so the unlimited is noce for me. Unlimited long distance on the phone also. I liked it so much I went out and bought a phone for my parents. Revol gives me $10 off a month for the second phone and another $10 a month off for autopay with my paypal card. (Plus I get 1.5% cash back on the debit card)
My phone is the Kyocera strobe with keypad for texting, and camera, but that is all. I don't need tunes or whatever on the phone.

All that stuff is neat but it also costs money. In my eyes the cost isn't justified.

No need to get testy, mattie. I know your time is important. And time is money, especially in matters of law. My own attorney has a new I-Phone. He had it waterproofed so he could make calls and send text messages while feeding at the bottom of the pond.

Bought the new I-phone?....the one that is running 500 to 600 bucks with a 2 year contract with AT&T?...

not yet, but i will soon enough.

do you think a company that's been working and testing it for 2+ years didn't think of that "something" that might go haywire? and if you can think of a million better ways to spend your money -- do it, why try to force even indirectly your views onto others? if i need an iphone or any other smart phone, this one just happens to do a better job than any other, or even if i just want one -- it's my business, right?

do you own any guns? why do you need so many? why couldn't you just get away with one? and so on, does this sound familiar?

I remember a whole lot of people saying all sorts of the same thing about the first cell phones and the first ipods. Funny how hundreds of millions of them have been sold. Yeah, shows you just how stupid Americans are and how they waste their hard-earned money on devices that make their lives so much easier and more enjoyable. Stupid people.

I admit I felt that way about the ipod and mp3 player fad. But now, I am broken. Since Christmas last year, I have bought 1 nano for my son, and 2 creative players, one for my daughter and one for me. Kinda neat to have ALL your albums and CD's in one place to listen to as you want to, when you want to. Great idea!

I always wait perhaps a year - it's amazing how Apple quickly fixes those 'glitches' -
the iphone is going to make them 15 BILLION Dollars in two years alone - I'll wait.
I am amazed at what it can do already!

So far the biggest downside - for me - seems to be AT&T

Very good idea to wait unless you're hurting for a good smart phone -- I am. I would have also waited and that's what I tell everyone else -- just let early adapters test it out for you and just get second generation which is most likely going to be way over 8GB capacity (160GB flash on a single chip was announced in Feb (or Mar) 2007).

btw, what's the problem with AT&T? I have AT&T and I haven't had a single problem with them. I had them since they were AT&T then became cingular and now are again AT&T, and they've always been good to me and I really like their coverage and service quality.

Add: by the way it is a good time to invest in Apple [:D]

Q: What's the difference between a lawyer and a rooster?
    A: A rooster clucks defiance.

Relax everybody. IPhone and AT&T may be first with this technology but guess what? Somebody else, whether it's Alltel or TMobile or whomever, partnered with Motorola or Kyocera or whomever, is going to be SECOND, THIRD, who knows.

When that happens, prices will plummet, these things will end up being given away FREE with a 2 year contract, or free period with Cricket.

I never like being the first to buy anything. It's always better the second time around, and if not, it's certainly much cheaper and I can live with that. I don't care what's invented, the guy who buys it last wins. Just like new cars, new movies, and girls in bars -the longer you wait, the easier it is to get and the less you're out.
