For me, cell phone is a necessary evil. With teenagers and one pre-teen, they are handy, but there are some times when it would be nice to just go incommunicato, get some R & R.
My identity is not so wrapped up in being seen with the latest gadget that I would immediately ring out and buy it.
Heck, I just recently got a cell phone that flips, and takes pictures!
I'm really not attached enough to my computer that I need to take it wherever I go. I get a kick out of those cmmercials for devices that allow the user to "take the office wherever you go."
Yeah, right! Like I want to do that.....[}:)]
No, I think I'll pass on the

Yep. I have a cellphone. I just bought my newest one. All I want it to do is to have a speaker phone and speed-dialing in it. Camera is nice to have for when I come across something that my wife wouldn't believe without a picture.

But, for videos, Internet surfing, etc., etc., etc., I have other tools for that.

The wife has a Blackberry. It is a big phone. I don't need a big phone, and anything she can do on her Blackberry I can do on my PalmPilot, which I can choose to carry or not.

My company provides me with a cell phone.

It can send and receive calls and, in very rare cases, text messages.

It's cool, but ya gotta remember to plug it in from time to time.

heard the Internet isn't as fast as they show on the commercials. ATT has 3g network and the I-phone runs at dialup from what i can find on the net.

I am waiting until they are half the cost with twice the memory and battery life.

Should be a year or two, let others pay a lot to be the bug testers.

I like my devices separate.... and I love my Nokia 770, and my normal cell phone is OK. I'd like to get a cell with bluetooth networking to use the Nokia 770 to full capability, but can't justify it yet...

Ain't that the truth. Wife has been on me to get a new digital camera. Why? So, I can try and figure out the new programming to download. It took me quite some time to figure out the one I have now. Someday one of those new fangled inventions is accidently going to launch a rocket..

does it pay my bills for me? does it do my dishes? mow my lawn? wash my car? do laundry? feed the livestock?

its just a gadget that someone else has convinced you that you need.

good way to determine if you really need something.....

let the power statewide go out for 4 weeks. what did you use to survive? thats the important stuff.

    end of story.

My 13yr old daughter won an iphone on the radio (steve and dc out of St. Louis)we haven't received it yet. They don't know if we can get it because of the two year contract BS. They do not offer that service here in BFE yet, so it looks like either the cash payout or if we do get it I will be selling it or trading it(hint hint[;)]), my daughter could always use a new gun[:D]

I don't intend on getting one,
but I love all the knuckleheads who do go out and buy Apple's latest gadgets and make my stock rise high.

I have an ATT 8525 and it costs the same. I need it for syncing my calendars and tasks with my office when I am out. It also receives email and interoffice email as well as surfs the net and plays music and videos.

The new Iphone is interesting and I need most of the features the higher dollar phones provide for business. Might own one after they've been out a year and mine wears out.

We have 4 Digital camera's and the one I have is great you can even film with it. Hook it up to the DVD player and watch slide shows, you name it. But I dont know how to do it, guess its being lazy and not wanting to learn. I cant download pics them onto the computer either, I dont even know how to post pics here. My father and mother in law have those type phones. He owns a shuttle service near Disney Land. He can be miles away and see something for example my wife collects and loves Mickey Mouse. He just yelled at her mother like Nextel walkie talkies and showed my wife a idiot running around in a Mickey Mouse costume and it was near 100 Degree's. As long as the Dept. continues to pay for my service I will keep my outdated Nextel phone.

damn straight[:D] an i-phone isnt going to protect you, build a fire for cooking boiling water, and the looters will already have taken it from you nayways thinking that it will be important when what you really need is a shotgun, fire, and cash to buy poop when credit cards cant be used at an atm or store

Bought the new I-phone?....the one that is running 500 to 600 bucks with a 2 year contract with AT&T?...

Wonder how long the thing will last before "something" goes haywire?...I can think of a million better ways to spend 500 to 600 bucks rather than on a phone that is supposed to do "everything"....

a stupid way to spend 500 bucks if you ask me!
