Yupp .Give em some freedom.It would actually be a good thing if USA did some "peacemaking" over there.

As i said this mission of peace would be a good thing....Not a bad thing in the eyes of the world...

When I snuck in as a tourist I was warned still cameras only and I am not a journalist. I was warned the military was everywhere imposing martial law with an iron fist and the people were greatly suppressed.
I expected sad and frightened people with storm troopers marching around and tanks every where.
In a week I saw two armed soldiers in the whole country. They were guards at each end of a vital bridge and each had an FN FAL.
The police were the only other people I saw that were armed and they had snub nosed 38s. The soldiers in Yangon (old name Rangoon) were unarmed and the people were seemingly very content with the usual problems facing most.
They did long for better TV; seriously!!!
I do remember hearing about one general (and the story teller was no government supporter) who after years of guerrilla warfare was tired and wanted to come home. He contacted the generals asking if he could stop fighting and promised to live in peace and not decent anymore. They agreed and he left the jungles in the SE and returned to his boarded up home in Yangon and he kept his word and so did the Junta.
I thought; these are strange people.
I believe if these people free themselves without outside meddling (you do know we will impose a price for our help as any other entity) they can then control their own future. If the UN Japs Yanks, Brits, whoever, help them that power will move in and tell them how and what their new freedom will be and how that power will graciously dictate their freedoms while raping the land of any value.
Have we any evidence from history to show otherwise?

However what u also are saying is that the US at the present can not be trusted coz the greedy (bankers wallie) Will screw em.
so USA is not fit to be the worldpolice after all....As i hoped they could function as...[;)]
Well maybe things shape up when the liberals win ?
But on the otherside maybe they through history been so peace and dont get involved minded so they bever get involved in any peacemaking operations at all ? Or i dont know could anyone tell me bout the liberals abilitys as worldcops.
