I love life, just don't have much of it left.[V]

If you don't like yours, change it. You can do it.[;)]

I'm not going to go into details, because most of y'all know the back story. I need to drop some excess baggage still. I'm getting closer every day.

Just shake it off with the attitude, it could have been worse, and if that's the way it was going to turn out, I'm better off now.[;)]

    I hate it.

here's the secret, and the reason why life sucks for some people, myself and yourself included.

all the important things in life you can't get yourself, you have to ask someone to give it to you. and the important things are the materials that you use to make your life how you want it. so the quality of your life depends on what everybody else wants to do with you.

I find that way of doing things to be absurd, but, that's the way it works and that's why it sucks.

a job? it doesn't matter how qualified you are, how good you are at it, if they don't want to give it to you, you don't get hired.

a friend? it doesn't matter how friendly you are, how good of friends you could be, if he doesn't feel like it, you're not his friend.

a girlfriend? it doesn't matter how much money you have, how cool you are, how studly you look, if she doesn't want to be yours, it ain't happening.

everything you need for yourself to make yourself a good life, comes from those. it doesn't matter how good you are at making yourself happy, if you aren't given the job, the friends, the girlfriends, then you don't have the money, the prestige, the house or apartment, the car, the nice stuff, the good times, the wife to do it with.

in your case, you're asking for it and just not getting it. you can't make her say yes.

that's it. if you think you've tried to make it work as much as you can -and from what you've said, I'm sure you have- well, try somewhere else. it's out there somewhere.

life sucks when you're on that side of the table.

I do!! But only when others are so frickin lazy that they think I should do their work for them. I'll be talking to some friends just telling them how busy I've been. Then they ask if I can come over and do this or that for them. But they're serious. WTH?
Why are people so friggin lazy now? It's the same at work too. Oh well.
OK guys line up and start asking if I can come over and repair your house/farm/car ect. LOL

Well....I do need a deck built, could you....[:o)]

Catpealer, You'll get through it. It really does suck when you're going through it...BTDT...when it's done and over all you have to do is be happy and comfortable with yourself. If you are, all other things will fall into place.

    Edited for stupidity!

A person that hates life just hasn't discovered what's important to have a happy life.

Contentment can be had in several ways depending upon the person. Family and friends fulfill the need for most. The interpersonal connects that we make all our lives generate a wide range of emotions. An individual with normal responses will gravitate toward those that inspire positive emotions while those with abnormal responses will keep associating with the ones that cause negative emotions.

Value of life for itself. Without going into the grand scale of why we exist, a happy person is usually just content that we do exist. Watching puppies nurse or nurturing a seedling to grow into a plant. Feeling the cool rain hit your face on a warm summer afternoon. Enjoying the taste of a meal and a steaming cup of coffee afterward. Contentment with a moment. Add those many moments all together and you will find contentment with life.

Happiness with choices and goals. We all strive to reach goals. Sometimes those goals are not attained and we have failed. Or have we? For every goal not realized, another opportunity has taken it's place if one is aware and will seize it. My personal goal at seven years old was to be an aeronautical engineer. I didn't have the drive to study hard and instead became a Navy flier, a job I was much more suited to.

I could ramble on about every facet of live as each gives you choices to make, but I won't. Accept the fact that life has no obligation to make you happy. You have the obligation (and the power) to make your life happy.

Scrounge around $30. Get a money order. File for your Curio and Relics Firearms License.

You'll be so anxious to get that bugger in the mail you'll forget about the excess baggage causing you trouble.

Ehh....worked after my first excess baggage removal.[:D]

but then again I had a big booze problem and narrowly missed the brig on many occassions...thank god for good supervisors and going to ALS with the cop that pulled me over...anyways my point is.....you gotta lot more guns to buy and beer to drink.

Women...don't count on them. They'll stab you in the back, cut out your heart and spit it out.

Go buy something that says Hemi on it.[:p]

Hunter, it's good in real life too if a person can really be honest with themselves. If something doesn't go the way I want it to, either I planned badly, or my expectations were too high. I accept that and try something else.
Once in awhile, I'll throw a pity party for myself and after a few minutes realize that life is moving on while I sit there doing nothing.
The same with people. Either they are friends or they are not. Never go into a relationship thinking you can change a person. You will always be disappointed. And why would you want to change them, even if you could? They were that way when you met them so just accept that's how they are and go with it. Just work around the rough edges.

I have to go do a brake job on my car. I have a choice to either do it myself or contract it out. I'm cheap on matters like that so I've elected to do it myself. I hate working on cars now, but it's my choice and bitching about it ain't gonna change the pads. I will be happy when it's done![;)]

Yes I do my own brakes too and don't mind it at all. But when you tell someone casually "yea yesterday I did the front pads on my truck" then they want you to come do theirs cause(#1 all time answer)I don't know how. Then I tell them "OK I'll show you how", then it's(#2 all time answer)"I don't have the time", then I say "take it to the break shop" Then they say(#3 all time answer)"I can't afford it, so why don't you do it for me. You know how and have the time" Then I say "no I'm busy mowing my fathers yard then gardening work then house work ect". Then they say "well you can do all that tomorrow" then I say "no I have to work tomorrow" then they say "well you can do it the next day" Then me "work again" then they "well looks like you'll have to do it next weekend".
Then when I do help someone that doesn't have the time, money or knowledge. They always have the time to watch me do the work while standing there saying "if there's anything I can do to make it easier for you let me know". Get the idea....

This is what I'm talking about, people being so friggin lazy they will lie through their teeth to get someone else to do their work for them. Me I take care of my father and his house,my house, have a full time job and a son that sometimes I have to work 2 jobs to pay the support. This is why I say I hate life sometimes when others that know how much I do still want me to do their work for them.

    Then when I need help....guess what....SOL

After realizing that my friends only call when they need something.
I don't help them anymore and they don't call anymore.
    What a shame.........

Great! You have realized the types of persons you need to stay away from. The leeches and moochers will bring you down. Quote them a price that you will do the work for. Nothing wrong with that and let THEM make a decision on whether they will pay it. If people choose to be lazy, that's okay since it's their choice. But they need to realize that option is not for free.

I'm just too nice of a guy and don't mind helping others. I just think the world needs more people like this. I think most would agree, but when it's always a one way street and most love taking advantage of this I don't like it.[:)]

I'm a really easy going guy and enjoy 90% of my life that I have created. But dislike people that love misery and it's company.

This is the crux of the matter. This is YOUR choice. Perhaps the world would be better off with more people like you, but alas it isn't and you need to lower your expectations somewhat to more reflect the reality. This is where the part about being really honest with yourself comes into play.

This is really an interesting topic to me. Where theory and reality meet.
Should we be angry at people who do not live up to OUR expectations? Are we just setting ourselves up for a fall when we expect things of people that are not acting in accordance with their nature?

We get mad at the dog that has chewed up our shoes, yet that is his nature. We left them on the floor in easy reach. We leave our car unlocked and expect no one to steal from it. Are our expectations reasonable and do they reflect the reality?

Does anyone not expect a teenager with curiousity and raging hormones not to try alcohol and sex? Are we being really honest with ourselves when we tell ourselves that they won't?

It's okay not to like something, but have the courage to accept the real reason, at least to yourself. Contrary to what is popularly touted, acceptance of something not to your liking is NOT an agreement with it. I accept that the Democrats may get the Whitehouse in '08. I would not be honest with myself if I denied that. Do I like it? No. Gays got married. I'm not real happy they call it marriage when I belive it should be called a civil union. Marriage is a religious and historic name for a man and a woman joining, but that's just me. If the religions don't sanction it, it should not be called marriage.

Oh well, I gonna go change them damn brakes.[xx(]
