Just kindly ask them to stop having WWIII in your yard, and if possible find some way to pick up spent ammo.

If that doesn't work, get yer own airsoft gun.

get your self an airsoft, and clean their clocks, otherwise join in by everyone elses view, while seeking a bit of revenge

yup, talk softly,[and if that don't work] carry a big paint ball marker.

Paint yourself up like "Rambo" and get one of these in full auto.

3 years and you have never spoke with the neighibors.....

Time to get to know those around you.

My suggestion is to calmly explain to them about tresspassing and simple firearms handling basics. If that doesn't work, buy (or borrow) yourself a paintball gun. Whack them with that a few times. They will quickly understand that you mean business.

teach them to be more responsible with their fire maybe?

If that don't work get your own airsoft gun and shoot back [:D]

the problem is that there are few places to legally play airsoft. Paintball is more popular and more often then not it is the g@y "speedball" version that is popular not military simulation (milsim) paintball; so they don't want the airsoft people anywhere near their fields either

Have a nice friendly chat,.......and make the point about your cars. You have no problem with the shooting, but would like for them to stay on their property, and don't really care for all the plastic BB's in your yard.
Doubt that will work though,..........if the parents were responsible, they would have already beat his azz for running around on your property, and firing with abandon.
Sure I will be vilified, as not understanding the kids are just having fun! I have had words with my neighbors, and it all turned out fine. If you just ignore it,.........believe me, it WILL get worse.
If the parents are non receptive,........tell them to stay off of your property, and video the kids. Call the cops at that point.

I call BS on the 150 rounds per second.
Even the fastest paintball guns fire roughly 30 rounds/sec

    Probably meant to say 15...

You should talk to the parents and take this shooting with the real deal and make sure to teach them some proper gun handling skills.

Honestly I doubt that airsoft BB's will hurt much. I see your point though.

just try talking to the kid in a mature and respectful manner. That usually works better. When I was a kid, I appreciated when adults spoke to me as though I was another person, and not just a kid.

The thing is I was a kid once and really into things like that but when me and my buddies wanted to shoot things at each other (paintball) we went out to fields and forests nearby, not our neighbors yard or the neighborhood. I do have a paintball gun and trust me I have thought of using it, I have also considered buying an airsoft rifle putting one of my scopes on it and peggin him in his bag. I have called the cops once already but I think he was inside hiding, I dont believe it is legal for him to own or be firing that without being 18.

Talk to the parents, follow it up with a letter, register it if you must so they have to sign for it...

Tell them if the kids damage your house, cars, family etc they wil be paying for all costs to repair the damage...Specify you have classic cars and quote a price to repaint etc...

Make sure they understand, the kids as well as the parents, that the police will be called, pictures taken etc...and charges filed if they do not stop ...

Take pics or video tape of the house, cars, outside etc now so IF any damage is done they cant say it was already there...

BR's suggestion sounds like the most reasonable, and possibly only action to take.

Just sounds a little strong for a first move. I like the idea of talking to the kid first. If that doesn't work you can go to the parents and say I talked your son, but... If that doesn't work, then escalate to the letter, etc.

There are leagues and such around most cities. They put on huge events. I've been thinking about going to see some of their games since they make such a huge deal out of them.

    Raup,

The first thing you need is some video. Second is someone else who witnesses their disrespect for your private property. The "get a paintball gun" is the worst idea in the world. If adults lower themselves to the childrens' level, the children will win, because they are better at being children.
Then talk to the parents or guardians, kindly, mentioning their financial responsibility for damage, and how expensive classic automobile restoration is. The "wallet threat" is the most effective
cure for wild, disrespectful children that there is.

Add edit: Getting even is not an option. That philosophy has been explored in depth by the Arabs and Iraelites for several thousand years, and it hasn't worked for either one yet. One option if the wallet threat doesn't work, is to build a fence. Sacrifice one car for the fence to protect the others.

    Hello Raupleminze[:)]

    1. DO NOT return fire. You are opening yourself up to legal and civil action.

    2. As Marc1301 has suggested have a civil conversation with the teenagers and tell them about the possible damage they can do to your property.

    3. As Black Roses has suggested take pictures of everything NOW so there is no question that it was "like that" before you took action.

    4. If the behavior continues, it is time to talk with the parents. In a civil manner and follow it up with a registered letter.

    5. Video tape the "shoot-fest" on your property. Make a copy. Call the police and take steps to have them charged with trespassing. Give the police the copy of the video --- you keep the original so nothing happens to it if it is necessary to use in court.

    6. If they manage to damage any of your property file a civil suite. You have the evidence to back it up and you will win. This will definitely get the parents attention.

Kodiakk.....these things are NOT so "soft" we have a 12 yr old boy who comes in our store and he thought it would be funny to shoot one of the guys in our store. We have had some cheap versions of air soft guns in stock and the one that boy had was NASTY. He shot one guy in the arm....it looked like he was stung by a hornet. He swelled up and bled where it hit him. It was blue the next day and he said it actually made him sore for days.

My kids can be idiots at times.....(some of you are saying NOOOOooooo.) When the idiot buddies come around THAT is when you are looking at major brain shut-down. I would have the 14 yr old that lives next door to you come over so you can actually show them your cars and maybe even help you wax one of them. That will start the ball rolling toward them actually RESPECTING your treasures. Right now they are just cars owned by a guy next door...and even if they know that they mean a lot to you they don't realize the major details and how important even a tiny ding can be.

My girl.....right now.....KNOWS we don't get phone calls after 10 pm....we don't eat in our rooms....we go to bed before birds start chirping. Ask me if I am just now coming back from yelling at her for the little late nite party she has going on with her little friend in her room. If they are 15.....they are idiots...and have to be reminded every 10 to 15 minutes about common courtesy and rules to follow. You will be helping yourself and helping that young person if you can somehow TEACH them something while at the same time preserving your sanity.
