What would you do if you found $$$

My friend and I were having a conversation about this earlier this week. Hypothetical situation. What would you do if you were walking along in the woods,or in a park or just anywhere and nobody else is around, (ONLY YOU) and you find a bag filled with money. Lets say $50,000 CASH! No name on the bag, no writing on the bag, No nothing. It's just you and a bag full of cash that you found... Would you turn it over to the authorities? OR would you keep it and never tell a soul?

    Well if you turned it over to the authorities with no markings on the bag ect. they would have a hard time finding out who it belonged to.
    So instead of them keeping it I would and not tell anyone.

    However if it came from a bank robbery you could be in deep ship!![B)]

    I would advertise in local newspaper
    "small bag found describe contents
    for return" Then if it was answered
    I would get athorities involved for
    the return.
    I do not someone elses money.

    In Nebraska you can turn it over to the LEA and if no one claims it, you get it back! Yours to keep.

    About four years ago a couple guys I worked with found a bag containing $80,000. They turned it into the police. No one claimed it. So they tried to claim it as finders keepers since no one apparently lost it. Case ended up going to court and the judge said it was suspected drug money and awarded it to the county. [:0]

    The money would probably belong to some druggie, so I would enjoy while some druggie would get killed for losing it. What a wonderful thought. I got some spending dough and helped clean the gene pool.

    I'd do what my local law requires, turn it in to police, and after 90 days if it is unclaimed it becomes yours [8D]

    It is not my money, it belongs to someone. I would turn it over to the authorties and let them deal with it. If they were unable to find the rightful owner, it would then become mine.

    turn it in, and if you do get to keep it, it very well may cost you 15,000 in taxes, maybe more depending on where it will put your tax bracket, and if your on ssi it may get you kicked off still it is spent, and then you may have to re-apply

    around here they will claim it MUST be drug money, and they will keep it, so what money?, i know nothing

    I found $720 in a money clip in an apartment building parking lot, once.

    I spent a couple of days knocking on doors to find the owner. Finally did, and he gave me a $20 reward.

    All fine with me.
